Contemporary and Future Challenges for Structured Democratic Dialogue

open access: yesSystems Research and Behavioral Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Structured Democratic Dialogue (SDD) is a participatory problem structuring methodology grounded in Structured Dialogic Design Science. It was created to help diverse stakeholders co‐construct influence maps that reveal leverage points and support coordinated action.

The winter 2023/2024 floods in the UK: a hydrological appraisal

open access: yesWeather, EarlyView.
From October 2023 to March 2024, the UK saw a succession of named storms and low‐pressure weather systems, leading to widespread exceptional river flows throughout. Peak flow records were broken in several catchments, but this event was most notable for its duration and spatial footprint, which resulted in major impacts.

ASSESSING THE ADEQUACY OF MATHEMATICAL MODELS OF THE MI-8MTV HELICOPTER DYNAMICS IN TERMS OF CONTROLLABILITY

open access: yesНаучный вестник МГТУ ГА, 2016
The article considers the adequacy of a mathematical model of Mi-8MTV helicopter dynamics with an external load in terms of controllability, based on comparison of data obtained from computational experiments and flight testing. The results of evaluation

Parturition timing and the pre‐ and post‐partum behaviour of female moose assessed using animal‐borne video and movement‐based approaches

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Limited information on moose calving behaviour, including parturition timing, cow‐calf interactions, and pre‐ and post‐partum movement patterns hinder our ability to define calving phenology and habitat use. GPS‐collars were deployed on 89 female moose over five years, including eight collars equipped with animal‐borne video and environmental data ...

Habitat selection of moose in Sweden in managed boreal forests with Pinus contorta and P. sylvestris

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Human land use can take advantage of using exotic species to increase financial benefits. However, the use of exotic tree species might affect ecosystem functioning, potentially including the habitat use and movement behaviour of animals, modifying their ecological impact, and interactions with human land use.

Spatiotemporal mapping the usable space of free‐roaming equids across the western United States

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, EarlyView.
Identification of the inter‐decadal (2010‐2011) enhancement‐degradation gradients in the usable space for wild equid Herd Management Areas in the Great Basin, USA. Abstract Management of feral equids in the American West is hindered by the lack of a formal habitat map and monitoring system.

Influence of Low‑Level Wind Shear on Flight Characteristics of Large Helicopters

open access: yesNanjing Hangkong Hangtian Daxue Xuebao
To analyze the influence of low-level wind shear on the flight characteristics of a large helicopter during takeoff, a wind shear model and a helicopter flight dynamics model coupled with wind interference are established.

Value in the ‘valley of the shadow of death’—When the user is no longer the value arbiter

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Public Administration, EarlyView.
Abstract The Public Service Logic (PSL) user‐centric perspective on value creation has been one of its main critiques. Scholars argue that for some real‐world applications, such as emergency services, where users cannot engage with service offerings, the PSL must consider the roles of other service actors beyond just facilitators.
