Periodic Response of Plasmasphere to Solar Wind High‐Speed Streams
Abstract We report the first observation of the plasmasphere's periodic response to solar wind high‐speed streams (HSS) during the declining phase of Solar Cycle 23, based on plasmapause location data from the IMAGE and THEMIS satellites. In both 2005 and 2008, the daily variability of the plasmapause exhibits a strong anti‐correlation with solar wind ...

Phenomena in the outer layer of the solar atmosphere, the heliosphere, including the supersonic solar wind, the heliospheric magnetic field (HMF) carried by it, and cosmic rays propagating in the heliosphere are important for many processes occurring in ...

A local interstellar spectrum for galactic electrons
A heliopause spectrum at 122 AU from the Sun is presented for galactic electrons over an energy range from 1 MeV to 50 GeV that can be considered the lowest possible local interstellar spectrum (LIS). The focus is on the spectral shape of the LIS below 1.

Exploring the Validation Results of the Advanced Solar Particle Events Casting System (ASPECS)
Abstract Solar Energetic Particle (SEP) events can adversely affect space and ground‐based systems. Space weather effects associated with SEP events can impact communication and navigation systems, spacecraft electronics and operations, space power systems, crewed space missions, and commercial aircraft operations.

Abstract This work examines atmospheric effects on cosmic ray counts observed by a Water‐Cherenkov detector at the Argentine Antarctic Marambio Station. We analyze the influence of ground‐level barometric pressure and geopotential height at various pressure levels on daily particle rates, finding the strongest association at 100 hPa, linked to ...

Abstract The Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) spacecraft utilizes the KPLO Magnetometer (KMAG) payload, a three‐fluxgate magnetometer array mounted on a 1.2 m boom, to measure crustal and induced lunar magnetic fields. The short boom length exposes the magnetometers to intricate, multi‐source stray magnetic fields.

Abstract The JUpiter ICy moons Explorer (JUICE) mission, launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) in April 2023, aims to explore Jupiter and its icy moons, particularly focusing on Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. This study uses the Latmos Hybrid Simulation (LatHyS) model to simulate Europa's plasma and field environment, emphasizing the upcoming ...

Estimating Soft X‐Ray Emission From Uranus's Magnetosheath
Abstract Soft X‐ray emission occurs within planetary magnetosheaths when highly charged solar wind ions undergo charge exchange with neutrals. The emission can provide dynamic views of the magnetosheath and cusps, allowing for investigations of the solar wind interaction with a planetary magnetosphere.

3D pressure-corrected ballistic extrapolation of solar wind speed in the inner heliosphere
Solar wind parameters at different locations in the inner heliosphere can be estimated using various solar wind extrapolation methods. The simple ballistic method extrapolates solar wind parameters from the point of measurement to a chosen heliospheric ...
