Non-Imaging, Focusing Heliostat
Solar Energy, 2001A non-imaging focusing heliostat for effective use of thermal solar energy is proposed. The heliostat consists of a number of grouped slave mirrors, which are able to move according to a proposed formula to eliminate the first order aberration. The master mirror tracks the sun by a proposed rotation-elevation mode to project solar rays together with ...

Solarization of heliostat glasses
1979We have observed a solar-induced decrease in Fe/sup 2 +/ absorption in heliostat glasses from the solar furnace at Odeillo, France. This decrease occurs throughout the sampled (not just at the exposed surface) and is of sufficient magnitude to result in an increase of 2.5% in solar transmittance in a period of nine years.

Review on Carousel Heliostat Designs
Journal of Solar Energy EngineeringAbstract An overview of carousel heliostats is given. The general advantages and disadvantages are explained first. To distinguish between the different designs, possible variants of the carousel architecture and of the main components are described.
