Rb*He_n exciplexes in solid 4_He [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We report the observation of emission spectra from Rb*He_n exciplexes in solid 4He. Two different excitation channels were experimentally identified, viz., exciplex formation via laser excitation to the atomic 5P3/2 and to the 5P1/2 levels.

Influence of Purging Gas on 316L Stainless Steel Fusion Zone in Autogenous Stationary TIG Welding

open access: yesTehnički Vjesnik, 2022
This research reveals the influence of different purging conditions on the fusion zone dimensions and shape for stationary autogenous TIG welding of 316L stainless steel. Welding experiments were performed for unpurged and purged weld root side for 7, 14

Physical Properties of Helium and Application in Respiratory Care

open access: yesEncyclopedia, 2023
Helium is a low-density, inert, monoatomic gas that is widely used in medical applications. In respiratory care, Helium is mainly used as an adjunct therapy for patients with severe upper airway obstruction and asthma.

Volatile‐Rich Hydrothermal Plumes Over the Southern Central Indian Ridge, 24°49’S: Evidence for a New Hydrothermal Field Hosted by Ultramafic Rocks

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2022
Water column physico‐chemical studies were conducted over the southern Central Indian Ridge between 24°44’S and 25°52’S to identify and chemically characterize seafloor hydrothermal activity.

Models of helium enrichment in helium-rich gas reservoirs of petroliferous basins in China

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2023
Owing to the characteristics of chemical inertness, low molecular weight, low boiling point, strong permeability and high heat conductivity, helium is extensively used in the fields of aerospace, low-temperature superconductivity, medicine and high tech,

A New Window into Escaping Exoplanet Atmospheres: 10830 Å Line of Helium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Observational evidence for escaping exoplanet atmospheres has been obtained for a few exoplanets to date. It comes from strong transit signals detected in the ultraviolet, most notably in the wings of the hydrogen Lyα (Lyα) line. However, the core of the

The helium paradoxes [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1998
The ratio 3 He/ 4 He (R) plays a central role in models of mantle evolution that propose an undegassed lower mantle, rich in the primordial isotope 3 He. A large primordial volatile-rich reservoir, a feature of recent models, is inconsistent with high-temperature ...

Helium enrichment mechanism of helium-rich gas reservoirs in central and western China: Degassing and accumulation from ancient groundwater

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Geoscience, 2022
Helium, a coordinated resource in natural gas, is an essential and strategic resource, but research on its enrichment mechanism is relatively weak.
