Moderation of positive muons by helium gas

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2019
Abstract Efficiently creating beams of spin-polarized positive muons with energies between eV and keV (so-called slow muon beams) is important for further development and application of muon spin rotation, relaxation, and resonance techniques.

Group Delay Dispersion Measurements on Mid‐Infrared Supermirrors

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Group delay dispersion of novel semiconductor‐based optics is measured in the mid‐infrared spectral range (2.5 to 4.8 μm$\rm \umu{\rm m}$). Comparisons are made between simulations, measurements conducted with a home‐built white light interferometer, and measurements performed with a commercially available FTIR.

Characteristics and formation processes of helium-bearing gas reservoirs in deep strata in the Xujiaweizi Fault Depression, Songliao Basin

open access: yesMeitian dizhi yu kantan
Objective and Method The Xujiaweizi Fault Depression in the Songliao Basin contains multiple helium-bearing gas fields. However, the assessment methods for helium resources and helium accumulation patterns in the fault depression are yet to be determined.

Helium characteristics and resource potential analysis of Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation in Changning area, southern Sichuan [PDF]

open access: yesYouqicang pingjia yu kaifa
Helium has characteristics such as a low boiling point, high thermal conductivity, and strong inertness. It plays a key role in fields such as low-temperature superconductivity, protective gas, refrigeration, medical treatment, and electronics, and is ...

Mid‐Infrared Intersubband Transitions in p‐Type SiGe Parabolic Quantum Wells

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
The design, growth, and characterization of hole‐doped Ge‐rich SiGe parabolic quantum wells exhibiting mid‐infrared intersubband transitions are reported. Structural analyses confirm the parabolic compositional profile, while optical spectroscopy supported by tight‐binding simulations demonstrates strong and temperature‐stable absorption up to room ...

The relationship between helium-rich gas and regional shale in the Sichuan Basin, Southwest China

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Despite over 60 years of helium development in the Sichuan Basin, the mechanism of helium enrichment remains poorly understood. Helium-rich gas is primarily found as gas composition analysis in the fields.

Ideal Bose gas in fractal dimensions and superfluid $^4$He in porous media

open access: yes, 1999
Physical properties of ideal Bose gas with the fractal dimensionality between D=2 and D=3 are theoretically investigated. Calculation shows that the characteristic features of the specific heat and the superfluid density of ideal Bose gas in fractal ...
