Effect of the Entanglement of Microporous Pillared MOFs on the Uptake and Release Profiles of Essential Oil Components

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Two differently entangled pillared MOFs with similar chemical compositions but different flexibility were compared for their guest uptake/release capacity. The flexible interpenetrated MOF shows superior host‐guest propensity with respect to the polycatenated one.

Measurement of Dissolved Gas Content in a Hydrocarbon‐Based Liquid Using Gas Chromatography

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A method for the determination of dissolved gas content in liquids is presented. The effects of ageing, temperature, and heating time on gas solubility in a hydrocarbon‐based liquid were investigated. In particular, longer heating times with much stirring were found to increase the amount of dissolved gas.

Analytical Study of Lanolin as Potential Biomarker of Prehistoric Sheep‐Shearing Practice

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
Lanolin, a complex wax found on sheep wool, accumulates on shearing tools, such as flint and obsidian blades, used since the Neolithic. This study explores lanolin's degradation patterns as a potential biomarker for prehistoric sheep‐shearing practices, employing micro‐Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging, and gas ...

Design of a Gas Rapid Injection Nuclear Magnetic Resonance System for Structure Elucidations and Kinetic Analyses

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
A gas rapid injection nuclear magnetic resonance (GRI‐NMR) device was designed and constructed for the precise delivery of gases at atmospheric pressures for real‐time data acquisition. The GRI‐NMR system precluded any modifications to the NMR instrument itself and was implemented for the kinetic analysis of ligand displacement using a highly sensitive
