Helium Suicide, a Rapid and Painless Asphyxia: Toxicological Findings
Suicide by helium inhalation has become increasingly common in the last few decades in Europe and the US because it produces a quick and painless death. Inhaled-gas suicides can easily be assessed through death scene investigation and autopsy.

Rb*He_n exciplexes in solid 4_He [PDF]
We report the observation of emission spectra from Rb*He_n exciplexes in solid 4He. Two different excitation channels were experimentally identified, viz., exciplex formation via laser excitation to the atomic 5P3/2 and to the 5P1/2 levels.

The influence of the reactor pressure on the hydrodynamics in a cocurrent gas-liquid trickle-bed reactor [PDF]
The influence of the reactor pressure on the liquid hold-up in the trickle-flow regime and on the transition between trickle-flow and pulse-flow has been investigated in a trickle-flow column operating up to 6.0 MPa with water, and nitrogen or helium as ...

Phase diagram of second layer of helium adsorbed on graphite [PDF]
Using realistic helium-helium and helium-graphite interactions and the path integral Monte Carlo method, we are able to identify the gas, superfluid liquid, commensurate-solid, and incommensurate-solid phases, and the coexistence regions between them, for the second layer of helium on graphite.

Study on Collection and Storage Stability Experiment of Helium Headspace Gas
Helium is an indispensable and rare strategic element. A method of sampling the top helium gas in the helium gas resource investigation was used, and is described in this paper.

Helium-iron compounds at terapascal pressures [PDF]
We investigate the binary phase diagram of helium and iron using first-principles calculations. We find that helium, which is a noble gas and inert at ambient conditions, forms stable crystalline compounds with iron at terapascal pressures. A FeHe compound becomes stable above 4 TPa, and a FeHe$_2$ compound above 12 TPa.

Physical Properties of Helium and Application in Respiratory Care
Helium is a low-density, inert, monoatomic gas that is widely used in medical applications. In respiratory care, Helium is mainly used as an adjunct therapy for patients with severe upper airway obstruction and asthma.

Development of helium turbine loss model based on knowledge transfer with Neural Network and its application on aerodynamic design [PDF]
Helium turbines are widely used in the Closed Brayton Cycle for power generation and aerospace applications. The primary concerns of designing highly loaded helium turbines include choosing between conventional and contra-rotating designs and the guidelines for selecting design parameters.

Density domains of a photo-excited electron gas on liquid helium [PDF]
The Coulombic effect on the stability range of the photo-excited electron gas on liquid helium is shown to favor formation of domains of different densities. Domains appear to eliminate or greatly reduce regions with negative conductivity. An analysis of the density domain structure allows explaining remarkable observations reported recently for the ...
