The influence of the reactor pressure on the hydrodynamics in a cocurrent gas-liquid trickle-bed reactor [PDF]
The influence of the reactor pressure on the liquid hold-up in the trickle-flow regime and on the transition between trickle-flow and pulse-flow has been investigated in a trickle-flow column operating up to 6.0 MPa with water, and nitrogen or helium as ...

X-rays from antiprotonic helium in helium gas [PDF]
Abstract X-ray transitions to the 4F, 3D, and 2P atomic levels of pHe have been observed with antiprotons stopped in He gas at 4 and 1.1 atm NT. The population by radiative transitions of the 3D level in gas Y M (4 atm ) = (28±14)% and Y M (1.1 atm ) = (43±22)% exceeds by more than one order of magnitude that measured in liquid He.

Three-dimensional kinetic modeling of streamer propagation in a nitrogen/helium gas mixture
A fully resolved kinetic model (particle-in-cell and direct simulation Monte Carlo for particle/photon collisions) of a near atmospheric pressure ionization wave is presented here.

Helium Ionization in the Diffuse Ionized Gas surrounding UCHII regions [PDF]
We present measurements of the singly ionized helium to hydrogen ratio ($n_{He^+}/n_{H^+}$) toward diffuse gas surrounding three Ultra-Compact HII (UCHII ) regions: G10.15-0.34, G23.46-0.20 \& G29.96-0.02.

Pulsed extraction of ionization from helium buffer gas [PDF]
The migration of intense ionization created in helium buffer gas under the influence of applied electric fields is considered. First the chemical evolution of the ionization created by fast heavy-ion beams is described.

High-Performance Polybenzimidazole Membranes for Helium Extraction from Natural Gas
Increasing helium use in research and production processes necessitates separation techniques to secure sufficient supply of this noble gas. Energy-efficient helium production from natural gas is still a big challenge.

Powering of an HTS dipole insert-magnet operated standalone in helium gas between 5 and 85 K
This paper describes the standalone magnet cold testing of the high temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet Feather-M2.1-2. This magnet was constructed within the European funded FP7-EUCARD2 collaboration to test a Roebel type HTS cable, and is one of ...
