GEM Operation in Negative Ion Drift Gas Mixtures
The first operation of GEM gas gain elements in negative ion gas mixtures is reported. Gains up to several thousand were obtained from single-stage GEMs in carbon disulfide vapor at low pressure, and in mixtures of carbon disulfide with Argon and Helium,

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

Resource potential and extraction technique design for helium in coal measures
Back groundHelium is an important strategic scarce resource. Presently, helium used in industry originates primarily from natural gas. In contrast, helium in coal measures, generally emerging as coalbed methane (CBM) with a high helium content, serves as

In the work reported herein, the catalytic effects of acid sites on electrocatalytic glycerol oxidation reaction are investigated by using a novel catalytic material system that integrates Pt metal sites with acidic Al sites. Abstract The catalytic role and function of acid sites in solid acid catalysts, such as zeolites, are well understood in the ...

Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Explanation of 100-fold reduction of spectral shifts for hydrogen on helium films
We show that helium film-mediated hydrogen-hydrogen interactions account for a two orders of magnitude discrepancy between previous theory and recent experiments on cold collision shifts in spin-polarized hydrogen adsorbed on a helium film.

Dielectric Properties of Cryogenic Gas Mixtures Containing Helium, Neon, and Hydrogen
Past efforts of cooling high temperature superconducting (HTS) power cables by gaseous cryogens focused exclusively on helium. The limited dielectric strength of helium gas necessitated alternatives that could be used in the temperature range suitable ...

Noble gas isotopic characteristics and helium dilution of coalbed methane from the third coal seam in southern Qinshui Basin [PDF]
Helium is a crucial strategic resource with very limited reserves, but its enrichment and dilution mechanisms in gas reservoirs remain unclear. Noble gas isotopes play an important role in characterizing the interactions between gas and groundwater.
