Quantitatively measuring the influence of helium in plasma-exposed tungsten
Tungsten samples are exposed to 3He plasma to quantify their helium retention behavior. The retention saturates quickly with helium fluence and increases only slightly from 4.3×1019He/m2 at 773K, to 7.5×1019He/m2 at 973K.

Amphibole: A major carrier of helium isotopes in crustal rocks [PDF]
The first evidence for a specific role of amphiboles in He isotope balance of crustal rocks was presented in early contributions by Gerling et al. (1971, 1976).

An evaluation of weld metal nitrogen retention and properties in 316NL austenitic stainless steel [PDF]
A series of tests were conducted using varying levels of nitrogen and helium in a conventional argon shielding gas when welding 316LN austenitic stainless steel. The outcome was that a 15 per cent nitrogen addition to the argon shielding gas had the most

Type Ia Supernovae: An Examination of Potential Progenitors and the Redshift Distribution [PDF]
We examine the possibility that supernovae type Ia (SN Ia) are produced by white dwarfs accreting from Roche-lobe filling evolved companions, under the assumption that a strong optically thick stellar wind from accretor is able to stabilize the mass ...

Deuterium retention behavior in simultaneously He+–D2+ implanted tungsten
Poly-crystalline tungsten (W) samples were simultaneously irradiated with Helium (He) and Deuterium (D) ions using the triple-ion implantation device. He effect on D retention and transportation was studied using different combination of ion energies and

Helium exhaust experiments on JET with Type I ELMs in H-mode and with type III ELMs in ITB discharges [PDF]
An analysis of helium exhaust experiments on JET in the MkII-GB divertor configuration is presented. Helium is pumped by applying an argon frost layer on the divertor cryo pump.
