HELLP syndrome: an atypical presentation
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2008HELLP syndrome without proteinuria or hypertension is rare. We present the case of a 33-year-old primigravid who initially was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. The patient was readmitted with a diagnosis of subcapsular hematoma and eventually diagnosed with HELLP syndrome with a sequela of hepatic rupture.

Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1988A case of the HELLP syndrome in a pregnant woman, which was diagnosed initially as obstructive cholecystitis, is presented. The diagnostic difficulties and some management problems are discussed. Practitioners should be aware of the HELLP syndrome and related conditions when caring for pregnant patients.
