The Importance of Metal‐Organic Framework Linker Atoms for CO2 Reduction: A DFT Study
Using DFT, we examine the role of linker atoms in CO2 reduction on copper‐based metal organic frameworks (Cu MOFs). Our calculations reveal that linker atoms may serve as both CO2 and H‐shuttling sites and suggest linker electrostatics as a descriptor for linker activity. ABSTRACT Although the metal within the secondary building unit of a metal‐organic

Engineering of Crystal and Domain Structures in Epitaxial Y:HfO2 Thin Films by YSZ Substrate Miscut
We investigate how YSZ substrate miscut influences crystal structure and domain formation in epitaxial Y‐doped HfO2 thin films. Using magnetron sputtering, high‐resolution X‐ray diffraction, atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy, and first‐principles calculations, we systematically examine the characteristics of thickness‐ and ...

Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

On naturality of the Helmholtz operator.
The Helmholtz map in the \(r\)-th order variational calculus on a fibered manifold \(Y\to M\) can be interpreted as a differential operator transforming base preserving morphisms from \(J^{2r} Y\) into \(V^*Y\otimes \bigwedge ^m T^*M\) into base preserving morphisms from \(J^{4r} Y\) into \(V^* J^{2r} Y \otimes V^* Y\otimes \bigwedge ^m T^*M\), \(m ...

Cellular forces are traditionally inferred from displacement measurements, which lack rotational information and are constrained by linear model assumptions. This work replaces displacement with rotational angle for the fundamental mechanical readout.
