Analysis of the Shifted Helmholtz Expansion Preconditioner for the Helmholtz Equation
We study in this paper the so-called expansion preconditioner which is a generalization of the shifted Helmholtz preconditioner. We show that this preconditioner can reduce the number of GMRES iterations if the meshsize is small enough and the shift is at most of the size of the wavenumber.

Solving Helmholtz Equation with Local Fractional Derivative Operators
The paper presents a new analytical method called the local fractional Laplace variational iteration method (LFLVIM), which is a combination of the local fractional Laplace transform (LFLT) and the local fractional variational iteration method (LFVIM ...

New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Approximation of the high-frequency Helmholtz kernel by nested directional interpolation
We present and analyze an approximation scheme for a class of highly oscillatory kernel functions, taking the 2D and 3D Helmholtz kernels as examples. The scheme is based on polynomial interpolation combined with suitable pre- and postmultiplication by ...

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Monotonicity and local uniqueness for the Helmholtz equation [PDF]
This work extends monotonicity-based methods in inverse problems to the case of the Helmholtz (or stationary Schrodinger) equation $(\Delta + k^2 q) u = 0$ in a bounded domain for fixed non-resonance frequency $k>0$ and real-valued scattering coefficient

Design, Construction, Test and Modeling of Triaxial Helmholtz Coil for Magnetic Tests of Satellite [PDF]
In order to be sure from true function of satellite’s Attitude determination and Control Subsystem (ADCS) and its parts, some tests are needed to be done in part or subsystem level. One of the useful tools for doing these tests is Helmholtz Coil.
