Thermal aspects of central supermassive black holes in a fractal framework
In this paper we will compute the entropy of a supermassive black hole (SMBH) that dwells at the center of the galaxies described in an intricate, fractal, structure.

Equilibrium Free Energies from Nonequilibrium Processes [PDF]
A recent result, relating the (irreversible) work performed on a system during a non-quasistatic process, to the Helmholtz free energy difference between two equilibrium states of the system, is discussed.

First-principles thermoelasticity of bcc iron under pressure
We investigate the elastic and isotropic aggregate properties of ferromagnetic bcc iron as a function of temperature and pressure by computing the Helmholtz free energies for the volume-conserving strained structures using the first-principles linear ...

Photoswitchable Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks
A conductive material where the conductivity can be modulated remotely by irradiation with light is presented. It is based on films of conductive metal–organic framework type Cu3(HHTP)2 with embedded photochromic molecules such as azobenzene, diarylethene, spiropyran, and hexaarylbiimidazole in the pores.

The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Rod-like Polyelectrolytes in Presence of Monovalent Salt
We investigate the properties of rigid polyelectrolyte solutions in presence of monovalent salt. The free energy within the Debye-H\"uckel-Bjerrum (DHBj) theory [M. E. Fisher and Y. Levin, {\it Phys. Rev. Lett.} 71, 3826 (1993)] is constructed.

Band Alignment in In‐Oxo Metal Porphyrin SURMOF Heterojunctions
Porphyrin core metalation in indium‑oxo SURMOFs enables systematic tuning of band edge positions without altering the crystal structure. First‑principles calculations reveal type‑I and type‑II heterostructures as well as multi‑junction energy cascades, establishing a modular strategy for exciton funneling and charge separation in optoelectronic ...

Holonomic and Non-Holonomic Geometric Models Associated to the Gibbs–Helmholtz Equation
By replacing the internal energy with the free energy, as coordinates in a “space of observables”, we slightly modify (the known three) non-holonomic geometrizations from Udriste’s et al. work. The coefficients of the curvature tensor field, of the Ricci

Two-dimensional one-component plasma on a Flamm's paraboloid
We study the classical non-relativistic two-dimensional one-component plasma at Coulomb coupling Gamma=2 on the Riemannian surface known as Flamm's paraboloid which is obtained from the spatial part of the Schwarzschild metric.

A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...
