Dysmenorrhea is a painful condition that precedes or accompanies menstruation. It is a real problem for women of reproductive age and impacts their quality of life. The present study aims to assess the anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant properties of Pycnanthus angolensis and Daniellia oliveri, two plants traditionally used to treat dysmenorrhea.

Objective: to analyze the current situation on dirofilariasis in Astrakhan region. Materials and methods. On the territory of Astrakhan region from 2001 to 2012 there was registered dirofilariosis in 43 people, among them 74.4 % women, 25.6 % men.
