Development of a Hemagglutination Inhibition Assay for Duck Tembusu Virus
Avian Diseases, 2019The HB strain of duck Tembusu virus (DTMUV) propagated in the brains of newborn mice was used to prepare antigens for use in the hemagglutination inhibition (HI) test. Results showed that such prepared antigens are highly specific to the serum samples derived from DTMUV-infected animals.

Improved analysis of hemagglutination assays for quantitation of lectin activity
Analytical Biochemistry, 1980Abstract A method to quantitate lectin activity based on hemagglutination assay in microtiter plates is described. In addition to the normal method of visual titer evaluation an electronic particle counter is used for counting of nonagglutinated cells in the microtiter wells; this allows a rapid, quantitative determination of the amount of lectin ...

Hemadsorption Plaque Assay for Hemagglutinating Encephalomyelitis Virus
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1972SUMMARY A plaque assay was developed for titration of infectivity of hemagglutinating encephalomyelitis virus (hev). Viral infection in cell cultures was kept localized by adding nutrient medium containing 1% agar to the cultures. The medium was subsequently removed, and hemadsorption was used to detect otherwise macroscopically inapparent foci of ...

Potato lectin activity assay based on hemagglutination
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1992AbstractA quantitative method for the determination of potato lectin activity has been developed. In the method, lectin is incubated with an excess of red blood cells (RBC) in phosphate buffered saline at 25 °C. Maximum agglutination is reached within 60 min. Agglutinated RBC are then separated from nonagglutinated RBC by filtration.

Hemagglutination Assay For Determination Of Human Factor VIII:C
Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 1981New methods for the determination of human factor VIII clotting protein (F. VIII:C) have been developed utilizing hemagglutination technique without using any other coagulation proteins in the assay. A 50% ammonium sulphate precipitate of the plasma from a hemophilic patient containing high titer of F.

Erythropoietin assay by hemagglutination-inhibition.
The American journal of medical technology, 1975The immunochemical assay (HAI) for erythropoietin is accurate enough to detect small quantities and sensitive enough to demonstrate consistently and quantitatively the presence of erythropoietin in serum and urine. It will be the purpose of this report to describe in detail the procedure for the assay, the usefulness and value of erythropoietin testing

Reactivity of nonsensitized control erythrocytes in rubella passive hemagglutination assays
Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1983Two commercially available, nonsensitized control erythrocytes for use in rubella antibody passive hemagglutination assays detected nonspecific reactions in 10 of 600 (1.7%) and 9 of 500 (1.8%) sera tested. Reactive sera were positive with one or the other cell type, but not both.
