Molecular characterization of D variants in Brazilian blood donors and their association with RhCE and Duffy phenotypes

open access: yesVox Sanguinis, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Objectives Serological classification of RhD‐negative and weak D is often insufficient in admixed populations, where diverse RHD variants have clinical implications. In Brazil's highly admixed population, RhD interpretation and donor–recipient matching are particularly challenging.

A Low Serum Calcium‐to‐Potassium Ratio Predicts Postpartum Venous Thromboembolism Risk: Mediation by Hemoglobin and D‐Dimer in a Multicenter Cohort

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
In a large multicenter cohort, a low serum calcium‐to‐potassium (Ca/K) ratio (< 0.55) in the third trimester was a novel risk factor for postpartum venous thromboembolism (VTE). This association was partly explained by concomitant variations in hemoglobin and D‐dimer levels, pointing to integrated management of electrolytes and anemia for postpartum ...

Hemagglutination by the hog cholera virus

open access: yes, 1948
The successful diagnosis of hog cholera in the laboratory has been hampered by the fact that small laboratory animals cannot be used satisfactorily. In this work an attempt has been made to determine whether the hog cholera virus would agglutinate red ...

[Improved hemagglutination and hemagglutination inhibition tests for arboviruses].

open access: yesVoprosy virusologii, 1976
The capacity of formalinized goose erythrocytes to be agglutinated in interactions with arboviruses was studied. Formalinized goose erythrocytes were found to be as sensitive as native erythrocytes, and were used successfully for diagnosis of arbovirus infections and study of the immune structure of the human population and animals.

Comparison of the Direct Agglutination and Indirect Hemagglutination Tests in the Determination of Blood Serum Titers to \u3ci\u3eEscherichia coli\u3c/i\u3e Organisms

open access: yes, 1973
A comparison of the direct agglutination test and the indirect hemagglutination test for the detection of blood serum antibodies to Escherichia coli organisms indicated that these serological tests were comparable.

Leveraging Macrophage Metabolic Reprogramming for Enhanced Anti‐Tumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 33, 15 June 2026.
Tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs) are key regulators of the tumor microenvironment (TME), with their metabolic states playing a critical role in tumor progression or regression. This review summarizes current understanding of TAM metabolic plasticity alongside cutting‐edge bioengineering innovations, outlining a roadmap for transforming the ...

An Hemagglutination Test for Titration of Antibodies to Polioviruses.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1958
SummaryAn hemagglutination technic for the titration of antibodies to polioviruses has been described. The HA titers showed approximately a 75% correlation with neutralizing antibody. The virus-sensitized cells did not remain agglutinable for more than 2 days at 5°C, but have proven stable for at least 6 weeks when kept frozen. An antigenic cross among

Value of Indirect Hemagglutination and Coagglutination Tests for Serotyping Haemophilus parasuis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
P. 880-882An indirect hemagglutination test (IHA) and a coagglutination test (CA) were evaluated using saline, boiled, and autoclaved extracts for serotyping Haemophilus parasuis.
