1. Any hemangioma that involves the upper or lower lid and leads to partial closure in infancy may interfere with or prevent development of normal binocular vision in a matter of days to weeks. 2. Hemangiomas least likely to interfere with vision are lower lid lesions occupying one third of the lid margin or less, not extending beyond the eyelid region,

A cohort of 118 twin pairs with infantile hemangioma was reviewed to determine clinical characteristics and to estimate the relative contribution of hereditary and/or environmental factors to pathogenesis. Questionnaires were sent to parents of twins in Massachusetts and Australia. Zygosity was determined by clinical questions.

Although hemangiomas are the most common benign tumors in infancy, scrotal hemangiomas are extremely rare and comprise less than 1% of all hemangiomas. Scrotal hemangiomas that extend into adjacent areas of the perineum, thigh, or anterior abdominal wall may occasionally be seen.

Washington, D. C. T H I s IS a report of a series of unusual experiences with cutaneous and mucosal hemangiomas which developed or became symptomatic during pregnancy. A hemangioma may be defined as a benign blood vessel tumor with its components somewhat apart from the general circulatory system. In pregnancy, these vascular tumors first appear during

Abstract About 41 cases of hemangioma of the scrotum have been previously reported. A case of scrotal hemangioma is reported and the pertinent literature reviewed. Wide local excision of the tumor with the overlying skin is the treatment of choice.

A 13‐year‐old female presented complaining of swelling of the skin and purplish red papules and nodules on her left leg. These lesions had been present from early childhood and had slowly enlarged, increased in number, and become more verrucous. At the age of 8 years, one of the nodules had been excised by laser, but recurrence was noted within a few ...

Cardiac hemangiomas are rare benign vascular tumors of the heart. To date, 23 cases have been reported. Symptoms are usually due to compression of cardiac structures or obstruction of outflow tracts. Echocardiography usually directs the diagnosis toward a cardiac mass.

Hemangiomas are the most common soft-tissue tumors of infancy, occurring in approximately 5 to 10 percent of one-year-old children. Despite the frequency of these tumors, their pathogenesis is not completely understood, and the best approach to their management remains controversial. Research on angiogenesis, an improved knowledge of the classification

We report a case of hobnail hemangioma presenting as a congenital 2-mm brownish papule on the face of an 11-year-old girl. Hobnail hemangiomas have recently been characterized as a group, and they are related to the so-called targetoid hemosiderotic hemangiomas.
