Hemispherical gradient coils for magnetic resonance imaging [PDF]
AbstractHemispherical gradient coils offer an open geometry that is well suited to imaging of the human brain. The windings of a hemispherical gradient coil are on average closer to the target region than those of a comparable cylindrical coil, and consequently hemispherical coils can produce higher efficiency at fixed inductance.

The Analysis and Simulation with the Fatigue Life of Hemispherical Resonator Gyro [PDF]
The life and damage of hemispherical resonator are important factors that directly affect the service time and safety of high‐precision hemispherical resonator gyro. However, the fused silica glass material used in the hemispherical resonator which was processed in China is mainly imported, and it is too expensive to use the traditional fatigue life ...

Summation of Powers in Open Resonator with Slotted Coupling Elements
The paper analyzes the summation of the powers of two sources in a hemispherical open resonator (OR) during its tuning. The first higher axially asymmetric TEM10q oscillation mode is excited in the resonator.

Effect of Uneven Electrostatic Forces on the Dynamic Characteristics of Capacitive Hemispherical Resonator Gyroscopes. [PDF]
The hemispherical resonator gyroscope (HRG) is a typical capacitive Coriolis vibratory gyroscope whose performance is inevitably influenced by the uneven electrostatic forces caused by the uneven excitation capacitance gap between the resonator and outer

Electrostatic resonances of a negative-permittivity hemisphere [PDF]
This article studies the electric response of an electrically small hemispherical object with negative permittivity by computing its polarizability which is determined by two orthogonal components, the axial one and the transverse one. A certain range of negative permittivity values is found where the mathematical determination of the polarizability ...

Resonant hemispherical dielectric antenna
An antenna consisting of a resonant dielectric hemisphere on top of a ground plane is investigated. Calculations of the internal and external fields are made with emphasis on the lowest-order mode that results in efficient radiation in the direction perpendicular to the ground plane.
