Could the Biological Potency of Porcelia macrocarpa R.E. Fries (Annonaceae) be Linked to Its Diverse Metabolite Profile? [PDF]
ABSTRACT Porcelia macrocarpa is a Brazilian plant species belonging to the Annonaceae family. To date, more than 190 compounds have been identified and/or isolated from this species, with terpenoids comprising the majority (62%). Alkaloids represent the second most abundant class (11%), followed by steroids (4%), acetogenins (4%), fatty acids (4 ...

Action Mechanism of Essential Oils or Their Components Against Pathogenic Bacteria: Literature Review. [PDF]
Essential oils (EOs), derived from medicinal and aromatic plants, are natural mixtures of volatile, oily compounds with varying compositions and antibacterial mechanisms. Understanding the mechanisms of EOs and their components (EOCs) is essential for predicting their impacts on various microbes and their interactions with antibiotics.

Synthesis of hemiterpene 1-bromo-3-methyl-2-butene derivatives [PDF]
Hemiterpene 1-bromo-2-methyl-2-butene (prenyl bromide) is widely used as a prenyl source for various organic synthesis. One of them is the development of synthetic fragrances for the perfume industry which is growing rapidly for daily consumption. Based on our literature study, most fragrances contain terpenes.

A new hemiterpene glycoside from the ripe tomatoes
A new hemiterpene glycoside (1) was isolated from ripe tomatoes (the fruit of Lycopersicon esculentum, Solanaceae) along with eight known compounds. The chemical structure of 1 was determined to be 2-methylbutan-1-ol β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-β-d-glucopyranoside, based on spectroscopic data as well as chemical evidence.
