Two-dimensional Nye figures for hemitropic micropolar elastic solids [PDF]
The paper is devoted to a wide range of problems related to the two-dimensional Nye figures for micropolar continua. The method of two-dimensional matrix representation of fourth-rank tensors is well known from monographs on crystallography.

On plane thermoelastic waves in hemitropic micropolar continua
The paper deals with the coupled heat transport and dynamic equations of the hemitropic thermoelastic micropolar continuum formulated in terms of displacements, microrotations and temperature increment which are to be determined in applied problems.

Formation of the female generative structures in Deutzia scarba (Hydrangeaceae) [PDF]
The development and the structure of the ovule and the embryo sac of the representative of the family Hydrangeaceae Deutzia scarba are investigated. It is established that the ovule of the given species is hemitropic, tenuinucellatic, unitegmic.

Representation formulae of general solutions in the theory of hemitropic elasticity [PDF]
We consider the steady state oscillation equations of the theory of elasticity of hemitropic materials. We derive general representation formulae for the displacement and microrotation vectors by means of six scalar metaharmonic functions. These formulae are very convenient and useful in many particular problems for domains with concrete geometry. Here

The Lagrange multipliers method in covariant formulations of micropolar continuum mechanics theories
Linear model of micropolar elastic continuum (known also as the Cosserat continuum) is considered. Kinematics and strain measures are discussed.

Initial Stresses and Skin Effects in a Hemitropic Cosserat Continuum
In this paper, constitutive relations are derived for a linear Cosserat continuum possessing hemitropic symmetry. In such a continuum, the microstructure has a screwlike property, or handedness, and can support initial couple stresses of twist. These initial stresses serve as a model for cohesion.

Hemitropic properties of thin non-centrosymmetric 3D woven textile composites
Due to their microstructural architecture, 3D woven textile composites, (3DWTC), exhibit complex macroscopic behavior, which cannot be effectively captured using classical continuum theories. One reason for this can be attributed to the ratio of the characteristic microscopic and macroscopic length scales, (d and L, respectively), which violates the ...

Functional bases for transversely isotropic and transversely hemitropic invariants of elasticity tensors [PDF]
Summary: We obtain a set \({\mathcal I}\) of 20 invariants for the action of O(2) on the space of elasticity tensors. It is shown that \({\mathcal I}\), together with seven additional invariants linked by seven relations, yields a functional basis for the action of SO(2), while a different set of 21 elements with 21 relations is added to \({\mathcal I}\

Micropolar continuum modelling of bi-dimensional tetrachiral lattices. [PDF]
The in-plane behaviour of tetrachiral lattices should be characterized by bi-dimensional orthotropic material owing to the existence of two orthogonal axes of rotational symmetry.
