Evaluation of the HemoCue Glucose 201 Room Temperature Microcuvettes
Point of Care: The Journal of Near-Patient Testing & Technology, 2007Introduction:A new room-temperature storage cuvette for the portable HemoCue glucose analyzers (HemoCue Inc, Lake Forest, Calif) was evaluated for technical performance by comparing a point-of-care glucose meter (Precision PCx; Abbott Diagnostics, Abbott Park, Ill) and a hexokinase central ...

Evaluation of the Hemocue portable hemoglobinometer after major joint arthroplasty
The Journal of Arthroplasty, 2002We evaluated the potential use of the Hemocue (Hemocue AB, Sweden) portable hemoglobinometer on the 1st postoperative evening after major joint arthroplasty. We compared hemoglobinometer values with conventional Coulter counter laboratory analysis in a population of 67 patients. The hemoglobinometer proved practical, economical, and accurate in general,

Accuracy of a Simplified Glucose Measurement Device—The HemoCue Glucose 201RT
Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics, 2015Easily available, accurate glucose recordings are important when screening for and managing people with diabetes. The photometric HemoCue(®) (Ängelholm, Sweden) Glucose 201+ system, which delivers lab-comparable glucose recordings, has the drawback that its microcuvettes must be delivered and stored at 4-8°C.

Assessment of the Hemocue-b for measuring hemoglobin in horse blood
Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, 2003Our purpose was to assess the accuracy and precision of a point of care hemoglobinometer (HemoCue-B hemoglobin photometer) for measuring hemoglobin concentration in horse blood. Samples of jugular venous blood from 12 healthy adult horses were collected in EDTA.

HemoCue® System for Hemoglobin Measurement: Evaluation in Anemic and Nonanemic Children
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1988The HemoCue system measures the hemoglobin level in undiluted capillary or venous blood after conversion of hemoglobin to azide methemoglobin. The authors have compared this system, designed primarily for office use, with the Coulter S-Plus III in a study of 200 than or equal to 105 g/L (10.5 g/dL) and 47 children with sickle cell disease.

Predictive Value of HemoCue Capillary Whole Blood Glucose Measurements in Pregnancy
Journal of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation, 1995We determined the ability of capillary whole blood glucose concentrations to predict venous plasma and whole blood glucose levels.During a standard oral glucose tolerance test in 29 pregnant women, paired capillary and venous blood samples were collected for analysis of glucose concentrations by the HemoCue photometer and by central laboratory methods ...

The HemoCue Glucose, Albumin, and Hemoglobin A1c Systems
Point of Care: The Journal of Near-Patient Testing & Technology, 2017Diabetes care is complex requiring prevention and management to minimize complications. Point-of-care testing (POCT) has been found to have a positive impact on diabetes management, and studies have described an improvement in patient satisfaction and glycemic control as a result of immediate feedback to the patient.

Accuracy of the HemoCue Portable Glucose Analyzer in a Large Nonhomogeneous Population
Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics, 2001Several studies have reported inconsistent results between HemoCue (HC) whole blood glucose measurements compared to plasma glucose. We selected a large patient population with diverse pathologies and healthy volunteers to evaluate HC. For this comparison, whole blood glucose concentration was measured using HC and referenced to laboratory plasma ...

Hemocue--a new haemoglobinometer in the clinic.
European journal of anaesthesiology, 1991The accuracy of the Hemocue, a portable haemoglobinometer, was tested on 29 patients undergoing open-heart surgery, and the results were compared with the haemoglobin values obtained from the hospital laboratory. Special attention was paid to the lower range of haemoglobin values and the simplicity and speed of operating the meter.
