Hemodynamic Changes During Arteriography

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1963
ARTERIOGRAPHY is a valuable diagnostic procedure in the management of peripheral vascular disease. Although relatively infrequent, untoward reactions may occur after intra-arterial injections of contrast media. Varying degrees of pain and symptoms of ischemia are commonly observed, but fortunately only rarely does one see complications leading to ...

Hemodynamic changes in human anaphylaxis

The American Journal of Medicine, 1984
Human anaphylactic reactions are usually unexpected and catastrophic. Therefore, opportunities to record the physiologic changes that occur are uncommon. A patient is described who experienced an anaphylactic reaction to a penicillin drug while being monitored in an intensive care unit for ischemic heart disease.

Hemodynamic Changes in Adrenalectomized Dogs

Endocrinology, 1963
Hemodynamic studies were conducted in trained, unanesthetized dogs before and after complete adrenalectomy. Three days after complete adrenalectomy there were consistent and significant decreases in cardiac output, stroke volume and mean arterial pressure, and increases in heart rate and total peripheral resistance.

Hemodynamic Changes during Prolonged Laparoscopic Surgery

European Surgical Research, 1994
7 healthy pigs, anesthetized with ketamine/azaperon/thiopentone and ventilated with O2/N2O by volume control, underwent anterior resection of the descending colon by laparoscopic view. During operation of pneumoperitoneum by inflating CO2 to an abdominal pressure of 14 mm Hg was installed.

Hemodynamic changes in acute adrenal insufficiency

Intensive Care Medicine, 1994
Acute adrenocortical insufficiency is an unusual cause of isolated shock. The purpose of this study is to describe the cardiovascular changes in 6 patients with acute adrenal insufficiency presenting with hemodynamic instability.Retrospective and prospective study.Medical intensive care unit in a university hospital.6 patients studied by right cardiac ...

Renal Hemodynamic Changes in Heart Failure

Heart Failure Clinics, 2008
This article describes the complex relationship between the clinical syndrome of heart failure and its effect on renal hemodynamics and function. An overview of the neurohumoral reflexes that are activated in patients with heart failure and the effect of these mechanisms on renal hemodynamics is presented.

Hemodynamic changes during spontaneous vasovagal reactions

The American Journal of Medicine, 1963
Abstract Vasovagal reactions which developed in the course of cardiac catheterization were studied in thirteen patients. A uniform fall in heart rate, arterial blood pressure, cardiac index and total systemic resistance was noted. Stroke index showed variable changes.

Hemodynamic and Histologic Changes Following Microarteriorrhaphy

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1981
One method for objectively assessing microcirculatory hemodynamics is to determine flow velocity using an ultrasound flow probe. The velocity acceleration measured at the site of repair was previously thought to be caused by stenosis. This study failed to demonstrate anastomotic narrowing and, more important, failed to predict delayed vascular ...

Hemodynamic Changes in Elderly Hypertensive Patients

American Journal of Hypertension, 1993
Hypertension in the elderly is characterized by a disproportionate increase of systolic blood pressure over diastolic blood pressure. Subsequently, in this category of patients, the increase in pulse pressure predominates over the increase in mean arterial pressure, thus highlighting the role of arterial changes in this pattern of hemodynamics.

Physiologic and Hemodynamic Changes During Pregnancy

AACN Advanced Critical Care, 2018
Substantial physiologic changes accompany pregnancy, the most profound of which involve the cardiovascular system. These changes affect maternal hemodynamic and oxygen transport status. This article describes cardiovascular changes that occur during pregnancy including blood volume, heart rate, stroke volume, cardiac output, vascular resistance, and ...
