Hemodynamic Response to Antihypertensive Drug Therapy

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1965
The most significant contribution to the antihypertensive drug armamentarium during recent years has been the introduction of potent drugs which affect catecholamine metabolism and release. Three such drugs—guanethidine sulfate, methyldopa, and pargyline hydrochloride—have been made available thus far.

Hemodynamic Responses to Exercise After Lung Transplantation

Chest, 1993
A reduced exercise tolerance, maximum oxygen uptake (VO2max), and anaerobic threshold have been reported after lung transplantation (LT). We prospectively assessed the hemodynamic responses to incremental cycle ergometry before and after LT in eight recipients. All recipients underwent a 6-week formal exercise training program.

Hemodynamic Response to External Counterpulsation

1979
External counterpulsation (ECP) is a noninvasive method of mechanical cardiac assistance. The legs of the patient lie in two rigid body sleeves that themselves are contained in water-filled sleeves. An intermittent diastolic pressure, triggered by the ECG, is applied to these sleeves, which then exert a uniform pressure on the legs and the blood ...

Vascular Hemodynamic Response to Meningitis

1986
Vascular stenoses in the large basal cerebral vessels in the presence of tuberculous meningitis were first recognized in angiography by Greitz in 1964 [72]. The angiographic picture of the changes in the vessel lumen of both large and small cerebral vessels was described not only in the case of tuberculous meningitis, but also in purulent meningitis ...
