Percutaneous balloon valvuloplasty in a pregnant patient with pulmonary bioprosthetic valve stenosis
The pulmonary valve’s anomalies can lead to the obstruction of the right ventricle’s outflow tract. This leads to the right ventricle’s pressure overload, dilation, hypertrophy and eventually his malfunction.

Microvascular permeability is a pharmacologic indicator of tumor response to therapy, and it is expected that this biomarker will evolve into a clinical surrogate endpoint and be integrated into protocols for determining patient response to antiangiogenic or antivascular therapies.

Monitoring of cardiac output (CO) is a mainstay of hemodynamic management in the acutely or critically ill patient. Invasive determination of CO using thermodilution, albeit regarded as the gold standard, is cumbersome and bears risks inherent to ...

Sex differences in vascular hemodynamics in middle-aged and older adults
Access to thesis permanently restricted to Ball State community only.Cardiovascular disease-related (CVD) mortality with older age is in part attributable to altered vascular hemodynamics including increased central and peripheral blood pressure (BP ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Cognition and Hemodynamics [PDF]
The relationship between cerebral hemodynamics and cognitive performance has increasingly become recognized as a major challenge in clinical practice for older adults. Both diabetes and hypertension worsen brain perfusion and are major risk factors for cerebrovascular disease, stroke and dementia.
