When one evaluates the relative merits of clinical laboratory tests, at least four desiderata are considered: (1) the accuracy of a single determination as compared with a known standard; (2) the reproducibility of a series of determinations when done by the same technician, by a group of technicians in the same laboratory, and by different ...

Near Infrared Hemoglobinometry
Journal of Near Infrared Spectroscopy, 1995In this article, near infrared spectroscopic measurements of hemoglobin concentration in whole blood, which are potentially useful in a pulse oximeter modified for non-invasive hemoglobinometry, are presented. The best one-, two-, three- and four-filter calibrations are presented.

Standardization of hemoglobinometry II. The hemiglobincyanide method
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1961Abstract An easy and reliable (spectro-)photometric procedure is described for the determination of hemoglobin as hemiglobincyanide. The time needed for a determination has been shortened from 20 to 4 min by shifting the ph of the diluent from 8.6 to 7.2.
