Experience With Surgical Correction of Retrocaval Ureter: A Report of Two Cases From Northern Tanzania

Two adults with flank pain were diagnosed with a retrocaval ureter on CT showing a characteristic fishhook deformity and hydroureteronephrosis. Open pyeloureterostomy with anterior ureteral transposition resulted in an uneventful recovery and preserved renal function.
