Phase diagram of epidemic spreading - unimodal vs. bimodal probability distributions [PDF]
The disease spreading on complex networks is studied in SIR model. Simulations on empirical complex networks reveal two specific regimes of disease spreading: local containment and epidemic outbreak. The variables measuring the extent of disease spreading are in general characterized by a bimodal probability distribution.

Exposure to nonself red blood cell (RBC) antigens, either from transfusion or pregnancy, may result in alloimmunization and incompatible RBC clearance. First described as a pregnancy complication 80 years ago, hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn ...

This study presents a novel polyphenol‐nanozyme‐armored probiotic system (ECA@EcN) for enhanced treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). By integrating chitosan‐modified epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG‐CS) with gold nanozymes, the system effectively scavenges ROS, improves probiotic viability, and restores gut microbiota balance.

CPL‐Diff: A Diffusion Model for De Novo Design of Functional Peptide Sequences with Fixed Length
This study presents a diffusion model for generating functional peptide sequence lengths using mask control. The model can generate antimicrobial, antifungal, and antiviral peptides with specific lengths on demand. The model learns the structure of peptides better and generates peptides with better physicochemical properties, and the model has good ...

Hemolytic Anemia in Cirrhosis: A Case of Spur-Cell Anemia
Anemia is a common complication of cirrhosis; therefore, its evaluation must be thorough and tailored to a patient's history. In this case, a 67-year-old woman with metabolic dysfunction–associated cirrhosis presented with transfusion-refractory ...

Cubic Phase‐Inducible Zwitterionic Phospholipids Improve the Functional Delivery of mRNA
In this study, a chemically engineered zwitterionic phospholipids derived from 1,2‐dioleoyl‐3‐sn‐glycero‐phosphoethanolamine (DOPE), DOPE‐Cx, are designed. The DOPE‐Cx lipids induce a cubic phase upon mixing with phosphatidylcholine, facilitate membrane fusion‐mediated endosomal escape, and enhance the functional delivery of mRNA.

Effect of Intrauterine Transfusion on Neonatal Outcomes in Rh Hemolytic Disease
Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the neonates with Rh hemolytic disease according to the severity of hemolytic disease (slight, moderate and severe) and the presence of intrauterine transfusion (IUT) for necessity of postnatal exchange

Hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn caused by anti-E
Objective: Maternal allo-antibody production is stimulated when fetal red blood cells are positive for an antigen absent on the mother's red cells. The maternal IgG antibodies produced will pass through the placenta and attack fetal red cells carrying ...

The Fe3O4/Gd@BSA‐pPB nanoprobe leverages biomimetic mineralization and targets hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) through PDGFRβ, offering superior enrichment in fibrotic regions. This targeted delivery overcomes biological barriers, enhancing both the accuracy and sensitivity of MRI imaging at early disease stages.
