Engineering Highly Cellularized Living Materials via Mechanical Agitation
A mechanical agitation strategy is developed to engineer highly cellularized living materials, achieving cell densities of up to 1 billion cells per milliliter. By precisely tuning properties such as stiffness and toughness in blood clots, the approach is validated in both in vitro and in vivo studies.

C-Jun N-terminal kinase 2 promotes liver injury via the mitochondrial permeability transition after hemorrhage and resuscitation [PDF]
Hemorrhagic shock leads to hepatic hypoperfusion and activation of mitogen-activated stress kinases (MAPK) like c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) 1 and 2. Our aim was to determine whether mitochondrial dysfunction leading to hepatic necrosis and apoptosis ...

Progress of Immune‐Inducible Biomaterials for Post‐Ablation Cancers
The presence of residual tumors after ablative therapies poses a significant challenge, generally resulting in recurrence and metastases. This review offers a concise overview of immune‐inducible biomaterials from the perspective of the cancer‐immunity cycle, and how they enhance antitumor immunity through diverse mechanisms following ablative ...

Intracranial Hemorrhage Due to Secondary Hypertension from Intracranial Large Vessel Occlusion [PDF]
Simultaneous hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes have been previously reported in the literature. Typically, these occur in patients secondary to dialysis, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, or thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.1,2,3 However, this is the unique

This review highlights recent progress in nanocarriers targeting pattern recognition receptors (PRRs), including Toll‐like and NOD‐like receptors, for enhancing the treatment of bacterial sepsis and related complications. These nanomedicines deliver antibiotics and anti‐inflammatory agents while modulating immune responses.

Hemorrhagic Endovasculitis and Hemorrhagic Villitis of the Placenta
A unique vascular lesion has been identified in 32 placentas sent to the Michigan Placental Tissue Registry, East Lansing, Mich. Half of the associated infants are stillborn; 11 of 16 liveborn were in distress or small for gestational age. Placental vessels show thrombosis, endothelial, and medial hyperplasia and narrowing or obliteration of the lumen.

Ebola hemorrhagic Fever: novel biomarker correlates of clinical outcome.
BACKGROUND Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) outbreaks occur sporadically in Africa and result in high rates of death. The 2000-2001 outbreak of Sudan virus-associated EHF in the Gulu district of Uganda led to 425 cases, of which 216 were laboratory ...
