[Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome].
Fel'dsher i akusherka, 1990Hantaviruses, the causative agents of HFRS, have become more widely recognized. Epidemiologic evidence indicates that these pathogens are distributed worldwide. People who come into close contact with infected rodents in urban, rural and laboratory environments are at particular risk. Transmission to man occurs mainly via the respiratory tract.

Etiologic Studies of Epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever (Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome)
Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1983Two strains of epidemic hemorrhagic fever (EHF) virus were isolated from the lung tissues of Apodemus agrarius mice that were captured in an area where EHF is endemic. The strains were isolated by passages in A. agrarius mice from a nonendemic area. Identification of the isolates by usual procedures was confirmed by repeated blind tests with coded sera.

Hemorrhage in Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome in China
Clinical Infectious Diseases, 1989Hemorrhage is a prominent feature of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in China. Hemorrhagic Fever With Renal Syndrome (Korean Hemorrhagic Fever).
1992Abstract : World-wide, about 200,00 people are hospitalized with Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) (3-10%fatality) each year. The etiologic agents of HFRS are Hantann, Seoul and Puumala viruses of the genus Hantavirus, family Bunyaviridae. A severe form of HFRS, caused by Hantann virus, occurs in Asia and eastern parts of Europe, a moderate ...

Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome in Korea
Clinical Infectious Diseases, 1989Several clinical variants of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) are caused by Hantaan and related viruses. Since 1951, 500-900 patients with HFRS have been hospitalized annually in Korea. Although HFRS is associated primarily with rural areas, it is now being recognized as an urban problem and a particular hazard to laboratory staff using ...
