Hemorrhage in Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome in China
Clinical Infectious Diseases, 1989Hemorrhage is a prominent feature of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in China. It occurs in all phases of the disease and is an important cause of death. Petechiae involving skin and oropharyngeal mucosa are the commonest manifestation of hemorrhage, occurring in more than 90% of patients.

Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome: Pathogenesis and Clinical Picture
Hantaan virus (HTNV) causes hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), which is a zoonosis endemic in eastern Asia, especially in China. The reservoir host of HTNV is field mouse (Apodemus agraricus).

[Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome].
Casopis lekaru ceskych, 1998The authors describe the illness of a Czech soldier who while serving in the UNPROFOR forces in an area with the endemic occurrence of hantaviruses became infected with this agent and developed haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome. The severe clinical course which called for seven haemodialyzation procedures led to the patient's recovery. The authors

Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome
International Urology and Nephrology, 1977Based on the observation of 11 patients (10 males and 1 female), the occurrence of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in two new geographic areas of Romania is reported. Two patients died within several hours after admission. The other nine recovered gradually. In four patients hemodialysis was necessary.

Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome in Korea
Clinical Infectious Diseases, 1989Several clinical variants of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) are caused by Hantaan and related viruses. Since 1951, 500-900 patients with HFRS have been hospitalized annually in Korea. Although HFRS is associated primarily with rural areas, it is now being recognized as an urban problem and a particular hazard to laboratory staff using ...

Significance The fatality rate of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) ranges from less than 1 to 15%, with China reporting around 90% of global cases, though it is also found in Europe and Asia. To predict future HFRS trends, we have developed a

[Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome].
Fel'dsher i akusherka, 1990Hantaviruses, the causative agents of HFRS, have become more widely recognized. Epidemiologic evidence indicates that these pathogens are distributed worldwide. People who come into close contact with infected rodents in urban, rural and laboratory environments are at particular risk. Transmission to man occurs mainly via the respiratory tract.

Etiologic Studies of Epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever (Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome)
Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1983Two strains of epidemic hemorrhagic fever (EHF) virus were isolated from the lung tissues of Apodemus agrarius mice that were captured in an area where EHF is endemic. The strains were isolated by passages in A. agrarius mice from a nonendemic area. Identification of the isolates by usual procedures was confirmed by repeated blind tests with coded sera.

Hemorrhagic Fever With Renal Syndrome (Korean Hemorrhagic Fever).
1992Abstract : World-wide, about 200,00 people are hospitalized with Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) (3-10%fatality) each year. The etiologic agents of HFRS are Hantann, Seoul and Puumala viruses of the genus Hantavirus, family Bunyaviridae. A severe form of HFRS, caused by Hantann virus, occurs in Asia and eastern parts of Europe, a moderate ...
