Endoclip is currently the preferred tool for endoscopic hemostasis in many endoscopic units. But, due to some technical limitations of endoclip and success of hemostatic forceps in hemostasis during endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), we aimed to ...

Methods of hemostasis in endoscopic sinus surgery
Functional endoscopic sinus surgery gained increasing popularity among otolaryngologists in the last decades. During any endoscopic sinonasal surgery the major limiting factors are its complex anatomy and the high vascularity. Often, even a small hemorrage is sufficient to reduce visibility of the operating field.

Devices for endoscopic hemostasis of nonvariceal GI bleeding (with videos) [PDF]
Endoscopic intervention is often the first line of therapy for GI nonvariceal bleeding. Although some of the devices and techniques used for this purpose have been well studied, others are relatively new, with few available outcomes data.In this document, we review devices and techniques for endoscopic treatment of nonvariceal GI bleeding, the evidence

Computational study for investigating acoustic streaming and heating during acoustic hemostasis [PDF]
High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) has many applications ranging from thermal ablation of cancer to hemostasis. Although focused ultrasound can seal a bleeding site, physical mechanisms of acoustic hemostasis are not fully understood yet.

Antiplatelet agents and/or anticoagulants are not associated with worse outcome following nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding emerges as a major complication of using antiplatelet agents and/or anticoagulants and represents a clinical challenge in patients undergoing these therapies.

Although there are many reports of hemostasis with covered self‐expandable metal stent (CSEMS) for bleeding from the papilla of Vater and the intrapapillary and distal bile duct, there are rare reports of its use for hemostasis in the perihilar bile duct.

Review of Quantitative Systems Pharmacological Modeling in Thrombosis [PDF]
Hemostasis and thrombosis are often thought as two sides of the same clotting mechanism whereas hemostasis is a natural protective mechanism to prevent bleeding and thrombosis is a blood clot abnormally formulated inside a blood vessel, blocking the normal blood flow. The evidence to date suggests that at least arterial thrombosis results from the same

Bleeding complications during percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy treated with hemoclips [PDF]
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) has become the primary procedure for the long-term nutrition of patients with swallowing disorders. It has been shown to be a safe method with a lower complication rate than surgical placement.

Endoscopic Hemostasis Treatment: How Should You Perform It? [PDF]
Nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding represents thousands of emergency room visits and hospitalizations annually, with an overall mortality rate of 5% to 10% despite advances in medical and endoscopic therapies (1). Endoscopy is the primary modality for accurate diagnosis and treatment of upper GI hemorrhage.

Endoscopic Hemostasis of Nonvariceal Gastrointestinal Bleeding
We investigated 2668 patients with non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding and 660 patients with lower gastrointestinal bleeding treated between 1987 and 2011 in our hospital. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding was associated with gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, Mallory-Weiss syndrome, esophageal disease, and others.
