Parvalbumin Interneuron‐Dependent Hippocampal Neurogenesis Evoked by Prolonged Rhythmic Light Flicker

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that prolonged rhythmic 40 Hz light flicker enhances spatial learning by stimulating PV interneuron‐dependent neurogenesis. The light flicker selectively activates PV interneurons, which enhances GABAergic support for the integration of immature neurons in the adult dentate gyrus.

The Multitarget Compound ZLY032 Achieves Treatment of Chronic Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZLY032, a dual free fatty acid receptor 1/peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor δ agonist, accelerates wound healing in normal/diabetic/methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus‐infected models by promoting angiogenesis, reducing inflammation, and exhibiting antibacterial activity via argininosuccinate lyase targeting, with demonstrated efficacy

Left hepatic trisegmentectomy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Left hepatic trisegmentectomy was successfully performed upon four patients in whom the true left lobe of the liver and all, or part, of the anterior segment of the right lobe of the liver were removed in continuity.

Non recurrent laryngeal nerve with right aberrant subclavian artery in recurrent case of papillary carcinoma of thyroid: an interesting clinical entity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background/objectives: A nonrecurrent laryngeal nerve is a rare anatomical variant and a routine preoperative imaging studies are not indicated. NRLN is related with absence of the brachiocephalic trunk and aberrant (mainly retroesophageal) course of ...

A Myelin Debris Cleaner for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery: Polycaprolactone / Cell Membrane Assembled Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
pMM‐PCL, made up of pretreated macrophage menbrane and polycaprolactone, boasts the adsorption of harmful myelin debris in the microenvironment of spinal cord injury. Abstract After spinal cord injury (SCI), a mass of myelin debris derived from injured myelin sheath will be consistently generated and induce macrophages to be foam cells.

THE USE OF KEPHALIN TO HASTEN COAGULATION AND HEMOSTASIS AFTER SURGICAL OPERATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Medical Association, 1917
The need of hemostatic gauze to be used where packing is now necessary in deep seated operations, such as perineal prostatectomies, in which bleeding occurs within the prostatic capsule from which large hypertrophied lobes have been enucleated, has long been recognized at this clinic.

Deciphering the Role and Mechanism of Decidual Monocyte‐Derived Macrophage Infiltration in Obstetric Antiphospholipid Syndrome at Single‐Cell Resolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a novel mechanism and therapeutic targets in obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome (OAPS). Antiphospholipid antibody/ß2‐glycoprotein I complex boosts CCL2 and TNF‐α expression in decidual macrophages via TLR4‐NF‐κB. CCL2 accumulates on endothelial surfaces via ACKR1, recruiting monocyte‐derived CCR2+ macrophages, driving inflammation,

Localized controlled fibrin glue application with gelatin sponge for hemostasis and dural defect repair: Technical note

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Neurosurgery, 2019
Objectives: Hemostasis and dural defect repair are fundamental aspects of neurosurgical procedures. Some significant bleeding may be caused by dural tears (e.g. bleeding from cerebral dural venous sinuses).
