ERCP findings in hepatic alveolar echinococcosis
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, 1991Hepatic alveolar echinococcosis (HAE) is a rare disease, but it is reported to be endemic in some regions of the world.s It behaves like a slow-growing tumor which infiltrates surrounding tissues. Formerly, in most cases laparotomy was needed to establish the diagnosis.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography in hepatic alveolar echinococcosis
Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2009AbstractBackground and Aim: Hepatic alveolar echinococcosis (HAE) involves both the vascular and biliary structures of the liver. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is said to be an alternative for the diagnosis and treatment of biliary complications of HAE.

Simultaneous occurrence of hepatic alveolar and cystic echinococcosis
Journal of Helminthology, 2019Abstract The co-occurrence of hepatic cystic echinococcosis (CE) and alveolar echinococcosis (AE) is extremely rare. Here, we present the clinical manifestations and treatment outcomes of three cases with co-occurring CE and AE in the liver. Computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging and 18FFluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography ...

Colloid liver SPECT of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis
Annals of Nuclear Medicine, 1993Seventy-one-year-old man had a liver mass. He lived in Hokkaido, where there is an epidemic of hydatic disease. Abdominal US image showed an echogenic mass. CT revealed a low density mass with an unclear margin. A 99mTc-Sulfur colloid liver SPECT study was performed to detect the liver mass. The SPECT scan was done after intravenous administration of 5

Current interventional strategy for the treatment of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis
Expert Review of Anti-infective Therapy, 2016The use of various types of invasive interventions combined with anti-infective drugs in the therapeutic strategy of alveolar echinococcosis (AE) has changed during the last 30 years. Areas covered: This article reviews the current respective indications of surgical, percutaneous and perendoscopic interventions in AE and proposes an integrative ...

Collagen immunotyping of the hepatic fibrosis in human alveolar echinococcosis
Zeitschrift fr Parasitenkunde Parasitology Research, 1986An extremely dense fibrosis is responsible for the main complications of alveolar echinococcosis (AE), a severe parasitic disease due to the development in the liver of a larval form of the cestode Echinococcus multilocularis. Immunotyping of collagens present in fibrous, granulomatous, and normal areas of the liver was performed in nine patients with ...

Hepatic alveolar echinococcosis: correlative US and CT study.
Radiology, 1985A total of 24 cases of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis (HAE) due to Echinococcus multilocularis was assessed by US and CT. The diagnosis was confirmed in all cases by immunologic and histologic study. Both US and CT patterns of HAE showed changes of liver morphology in both contour and size.

Trans Portal, Secondary Hepatic Alveolar Echinococcosis of Rats
The Journal of Parasitology, 1984while a lesser concentration was detected in 13 day PI adults. However, when total RIA positive material was considered (conjugated and nonconjugated), 13 day PI adults and 6 wk old L3 had similar amounts of ecdysteroid-like substance(s). However, correlation of the concentration of these ecdysteroid-like substances with known physiological and/or ...

Evaluation of Color Doppler Ultrasonography in Diagnosing Hepatic Alveolar Echinococcosis
Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology, 2012To assess the accuracy of color Doppler ultrasonography in diagnosing hepatic alveolar echinococcosis, 129 patients were examined at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University between July 2004 and June 2010. Those patients suspected of having hepatic alveolar echinococcosis were examined and diagnosed by color Doppler ultrasound. All
