Impact of hepatospleno volume ratio on postoperative chronic liver failure after major hepatectomy for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 9, Issue 3, Page 578-586, May 2025.
The hepatospleno volume ratio and prealbumin levels 3 mo after major hepatectomy for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma are significant predictors of postoperative chronic liver failure (PCLF). The importance of this finding is that it emphasizes the need for targeted postoperative nutritional support and regular screening endoscopy to mitigate the risk of ...

Effective and Lifesaving Retrograde Femoral and Jugular Vein Double‐Lumen Catheter Insertion in Patients With Poor Hemodialysis Venous Access Who Needed Emergency Hemodialysis: A Case Series

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Retrograde femoral catheter insertion for hemodialysis access is an immediate rescue procedure and a short‐term solution to salvage life in compromised patients. This temporary solution could be reserved in resource‐limited regions until permanent dialysis routes are established.

Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic Modeling to Predict Drug–Drug Interactions of Soticlestat as a Victim of CYP Induction and Inhibition, and as a Perpetrator of CYP and P–Glycoprotein Inhibition

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology in Drug Development, Volume 14, Issue 5, Page 368-381, May 2025.
Abstract Soticlestat (TAK‐935) is a cholesterol 24‐hydroxylase inhibitor. A physiologically‐based pharmacokinetic model has been developed to predict potential soticlestat drug–drug interactions (DDIs) using the Simcyp v20 Population‐based Simulator and verified with data from single‐/multiple‐rising‐dose and clinical DDI studies.
