Tackling cancer stemness with nanotechnology in the era of precision medicine

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Precise customization of nanoparticles (NPs) enables active targeting of cancer stem cells (CSCs), thereby improving drug delivery and therapeutic efficacy. NP‐based probing enhances CSC detection through imaging and liquid biopsy, whereas diverse therapeutic payloads improve therapeutic outcomes.

Glycosylated dendrimer nanoamplifiers hijack DNA damage‐immune crosstalk for enhanced dual‐track therapy of orthotopic glioblastoma

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
A glycosylated dendrimer nanoamplifier hijacks DNA damage‐immune crosstalk for enhanced radio‐immunotherapy of glioblastoma. The responsive release of demethylcantharidin simultaneously blocks repair‐mediated resistance by inhibiting DNA repair and overcomes adaptive immune resistance.

Intermittent fasting with medium‐chain triglycerides in drug‐resistant epilepsy: A pilot crossover trial

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Ketogenic dietary therapies can reduce seizure frequency in drug‐resistant epilepsy, but adherence to the classical ketogenic diet is often poor. Intermittent fasting supplemented with medium‐chain triglycerides (MCTs) may offer a more feasible and less restrictive alternative.

Venous blood lactate concentration as a predictor of intestinal viability in horses with acquired indirect inguinal hernia

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Acquired indirect inguinal hernia represents a life‐threatening emergency. Therapeutic decision‐making largely depends on intestinal viability, for which specific predictive parameters (such as venous lactate) have not been evaluated.

Outcome of hepatic resection for metastatic gastric cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The role of hepatic resection for metastatic gastric cancer is less well defined due to the tendency of gastric cancer to widely metastasize. The purpose of this study is to examine the beneficial effect of hepatic resection in patients with metastatic ...

Hepatic resection for hepatocellular carcinoma in cirrhosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the most common cancers worldwide. Several treatment modalities have been proposed, but hepatic resection is still considered the first-line therapeutic option for most of the patient carries of HCC.

PROPHYLACTIC SURGICAL REMOVAL OF ASYMPTOMATIC LARGE PEDUNCULATED HEPATIC FOCAL NODULAR HYPERPLASIA IN A DOG

open access: yesSlovenian Veterinary Research
A Shetland sheepdog was referred to us for splenomegaly. Blood examination revealed elevated activities of hepatic enzymes. Computed tomography revealed a hypoattenuated splenic mass and a large hepatic mass (size: 97 × 81 × 31 mm) connected to the left

Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization for Hepatic Recurrence after Curative Resection of Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2010
Background/Aims: Despite curative resection, hepatic recurrences cause a significant reduction in survival in patients with primary pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
