Extracorporeal Albumin Dialysis (OPAL) as Novel Therapeutic Bridging Option in Posthepatectomy Liver Failure

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
Extracorporeal albumin dialysis (OPAL) effectively reduces bilirubin and improves other laboratory markers in posthepatectomy liver failure, particularly in secondary forms. It may serve as a bridging therapy to support hepatic recovery in critically ill patients, although prospective studies are needed to confirm its impact on survival.

Socioeconomic Inequalities in Receipt of Curative‐Intent Treatment and Survival After Surveillance‐Detected Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Nationwide Cohort Study

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Socioeconomic inequalities in receipt of curative‐intent treatment and survival persist among individuals with surveillance‐detected HCC within a universal healthcare system. These findings suggest that surveillance alone is insufficient to ensure equitable outcomes and highlight the need for strategies addressing social determinants across the care ...

Review Article: The Impact of the Gut Microbiome on Ulcerative Colitis Pharmacotherapy

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome modulates ulcerative colitis pharmacotherapy through microbial drug metabolism, immune regulation and altered drug bioavailability. Microbial composition influences response to aminosalicylates, corticosteroids, immunomodulators, biologics and small molecules, while microbiome‐targeted therapies show emerging promise.

MiR‐375 in CAFs‐Derived EVs Promotes HCC Progression via Regulating RASA1 and May Potentially Serve as a Biomarker for HCC

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
CAFs could transfer EVs miR‐375 into endothelial cells with a low level of RASA1 and further promote EC angiogenesis. Plasma EVs miR‐375 have the potential values as a novel diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for HCC. ABSTRACT Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in the tumor microenvironment play an important role in cancer initiation and progression
