The FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 10, 31 May 2025.This study shows that the chemokine CXCL14 is induced by hepatotropic lytic virus in mice and humans and by inflammatory mediators such as IL‐6 and TNF. Hepatocytes are a source of CXCL14, which is released when cells die, making it an alarmin. CXCL14 knock‐out mice are partially protected from liver injury thanks to higher Ltreg recruitment.
