Attempted treatment of fulminant viral hepatitis with human fibroblast interferon

Infection, 1985
Beta-interferon was administered by intravenous infusion to 16 patients affected with fulminant hepatitis B virus infection in third or fourth-grade coma. Ten patients presented a superinfection or a co-infection due to the delta (delta)-agent. None had detectable interferon (IFN) activity before therapy was begun.

Acute viral hepatitis: Morphologic and functional correlations in human livers

Human Pathology, 1984
The usual histologic pattern in acute viral hepatitis (AVH) includes cellular abnormalities predominantly in the perivenular (zone 3) hepatocytes and changes interpreted as representing regenerative activity in the periportal (zone 1) hepatocytes. Enzyme histochemical and ultrastructural studies of livers of 12 patients with AVH were undertaken to see ...

Interrelation between Tryptophan and Nicotinic Acid in Human Viral Hepatitis

Nature, 1962
CONTINUING the chromatographic work carried out on tryptophan–nicotinic acid metabolism on urine of mice affected with experimental MHV-3 virus1, we have investigated the effect of viral hepatitis on the relationship between tryptophan and nicotinic acid in man.

[Human immunodeficiency virus infection and viral hepatitis].

Enfermedades infecciosas y microbiologia clinica, 2012
Hepatic complications currently represent one of the leading reasons for medical consultations, hospitalisation, and death in the HIV-infected population. This is due to a large extent to viral hepatitis, given its disproportionate frequency in this population. Chronic hepatitis B affects 5-10% of the HIV-infected population.
