CaMKK2 Regulates Macrophage Polarization Induced by Matrix Stiffness: Implications for Shaping the Immune Response in Stiffened Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Macrophage phenotypes are influenced by the microenvironment. Matrix stiffness, a key ECM factor, polarizes macrophage toward a pro‐regenerative phenotype in a 3D physiological environment. CaMKK2 selectively regulates stiffness‐induced macrophage polarization, impacting tumor growth and wound healing.

Viral Hepatitis E

open access: yesDeckerMed Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy, 2018
Hepatitis E Virus (HEV) infections are among the most frequent causes of viral hepatitis globally. They are especially common in southern Asia where large epidemics of waterborne hepatitis, primarily affect adults with increased mortality in pregnant women, occur frequently during and after monsoon rains when there is contamination of the drinking ...

Autocrine GDF10 Inhibits Hepatic Stellate Cell Activation via BMPR2/ALK3 Receptor to Prevent Liver Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liver fibrosis is a growing global health burden with no specific treatment. HSC activation is the predominant driver of liver fibrogenesis and the current focus in antifibrotic drug discovery. This study identifies autocrine GDF10 activates BMPR2/ALK3‐SMAD1/5/8‐SMAD7 pathway to counteract the TGF‐β‐SMAD2/3 pathway in HSCs, thereby inhibiting HSC ...

Functional Materials Targeted Regulation of Gasdermins: From Fundamentals to Functionalities and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Targeted regulation of pyroptosis to modulate the immune landscape is a novel design strategy for cancer immunotherapy and anti‐inflammatory treatment. Pyroptosis, as a double‐edged sword, underscores the importance of optimizing the design strategy of functional materials and appropriately activating pyroptosis for the effective treatment of diseases.

Dynamic Cap‐Mediated Substrate Access and Potent Inhibitor Design of Monkeypox Virus I7L Protease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The first crystal structure of MPXV I7L protease, revealing its unique dimeric form is resolved. The structures and MD simulations uncovered a dynamic cap region that regulates substrate access to the active site. The structural basis of substrate recognition and the catalytic mechanism are elucidated, which led to the development of a FRET‐based assay

MicroRNA‐433‐3p enhances chemosensitivity of glioma to cisplatin by downregulating NR5A2

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 12, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
miR‐433‐3p mediated the ability of NR5A2 to regulate the malignant behavior of glioma cells Abstract Objective We attempted to investigate influence of microRNA‐433‐3p on malignant progression of glioma and identify its molecular mechanism, thus laying groundwork for glioma management.

PDCD11 Stabilizes C‐MYC Oncoprotein by Hindering C‐MYC‐SKP2 Negative Feedback Loop to Facilitate Progression of p53‐Mutant Breast and Colon Malignancies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PDCD11 overexpression highly correlates to poor prognosis in p53‐mutant breast and colon cancers. Through interaction with C‐MYC in the nucleoplasm, PDCD11 hinders C‐MYC‐induced SKP2 from binding to the C‐MYC MB2 domain for ubiquitination, thereby stabilizing C‐MYC to drive tumor progression.

The relationship between dietary patterns and aggressive behavior in adolescent girls: A cross‐sectional study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 12, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Background There are few studies about the relationship between dietary patterns and aggression. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between the main dietary patterns and aggression scores among adolescent girls in Iran. Methods This cross‐sectional study was conducted on 670 adolescent girls.
