The Prevalence and Characteristics of Infective Endocarditis in Liver Transplant Recipients: Insights From National Inpatient Sample Database

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 48, Issue 4, April 2025.
The impact of infective endocarditis in patients with liver transplant needs further inquiry. Analysis of 170 650 patients with LT based on the presence of infective endocarditis was performed. Staphylococcus (18.6%) and Enterococcus (12.8%) were the most common strains identified in patients with IE.

A High-Performance List Decoding Algorithm for Surface Codes with Erroneous Syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Quantum error-correcting codes (QECCs) are necessary for fault-tolerant quantum computation. Surface codes are a class of topological QECCs that have attracted significant attention due to their exceptional error-correcting capabilities and easy implementation.

Brain network efficiency is influenced by pathological source of corticobasal syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Multimodal neuroimaging studies of corticobasal syndrome using volumetric MRI and DTI successfully discriminate between Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal lobar degeneration but this evidence has typically included clinically heterogeneous patient cohorts and has rarely assessed the network structure of these distinct sources of pathology.

MELD score predicts outcomes in patients with advanced heart failure: A longitudinal evaluation

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 839-847, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Advanced heart failure (AHF) is characterized by recurrent episodes of haemodynamic instability and frequent hospitalizations, leading to a progressive decline in quality of life and high mortality rates. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effect of the model for end‐stage liver disease (MELD) score and its variations in ...

Properties of Syndrome Distribution for Blind Reconstruction of Cyclic Codes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
In the problem of blind reconstruction of channel codes, the receiver does not have the knowledge of the channel code used at the transmitter and the aim is to identify this unknown channel code corresponding to the given received sequence. In this paper, we study this blind reconstruction problem for binary cyclic codes.

Influence of Obesity Class on Clinical Outcomes in Alcoholic Hepatitis: A National Cohort Study of Mortality, Complications, and Resource Use

open access: yesJGH Open, Volume 9, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Background & Aims Alcoholic hepatitis (AH) is a severe manifestation of alcoholic liver disease with high morbidity and mortality. This study used the 2016–2020 National Readmission Database to investigate how obesity influences AH outcomes. Methods Adult hospitalizations were categorized as those without obesity, Class 1 obesity (BMI 30–34.9),
