Eremitis linearifolia and E. robusta (Poaceae, Bambusoideae, Olyreae): two new species of herbaceous bamboos from Brazil first collected over 30 years ago

Phytotaxa, 2016
Two new species of the herbaceous bamboos genus Eremitis are described and illustrated under the names Eremitis linearifolia and E. robusta. They occur in small populations in the Atlantic Rain Forest vegetation, from the states of Espírito Santo and Bahia, Brazil, respectively. Both species are known from only two sites.

Unravelling relationships and inferring the biogeographic history of a group of herbaceous bamboos from the Northeast Atlantic Forest (Piresia: Olyreae: Bambusoideae)

Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society
Abstract Phylogenies with complex evolutionary histories commonly reflect different evolutionary processes that genes and species may undergo, especially groups with low internal resolution, such as Piresia, a South American herbaceous bamboo genus.

Phylogenetics and morphology bring to light two new herbaceous bamboo genera (Poaceae: Olyreae) endemic to Indigenous territories in the Atlantic Forest of Bahia, Brazil

Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society
Abstract The Amazon and the Atlantic Forest harbour the greatest diversity of herbaceous bamboos (Poaceae, Bambusoideae, Olyreae) in the Americas, especially the region comprising southern Bahia and northern Espirito Santo states, which exhibits a high degree of endemism for this group.
