Forest type influence on Heliconia‐dipteran interaction networks

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, Volume 19, Issue 3, Page 660-674, May 2026.
Responses to forest type depended on the developmental stage of dipterans. Bract traits and forest type influenced larval abundance, but forest type had no impact on adult alpha and beta diversity. Heliconia‐dipteran interaction networks showed a nested pattern for both forest types.

Molecular Targeted Suppression of Male Fertility in Amaranthus palmeri S. Watson: Function and Layered Double Hydroxide Nanosheets‐Based Delivery System of ApmiR319

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 5, Page 3296-3307, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Amaranthus palmeri is one of the most troublesome invasive agricultural weeds worldwide, exhibiting super invasiveness and high resistance to conventional management strategies. Artificial microRNA‐mediated silencing technology, coupled with a nanoparticle‐mediated delivery system, represents an attractive approach for fertility control in A ...

WUSCHEL Transcription Factor: From Stem Cell Maintenance to Crop Improvement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 24, 27 April 2026.
This review synthesizes emerging insights into WUSCHEL (WUS) as a central regulator of plant stem cell fate beyond Arabidopsis, highlighting its roles in regeneration, somatic embryogenesis (SE), and stress adaptation across crops. It explores how WUS‐centered regulatory networks, genome editing, and AI‐guided strategies can be leveraged for precise ...

Vegetational Characteristics in Natural Habitat and Population Structure of the Endangered Plant Tigridiopalma Genus

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
First comprehensive ecological assessment of the endangered genus Tigridiopalma, covering two China endemic Plant Species with Extremely Small Populations (PSESP), T. magnifica and the newly described T. exalata. T. magnifica exhibits broader habitat diversity and understory resilience, while T.

Plant Robotics for Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Robots: Insights from Actuation Characteristics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 15, 13 March 2026.
Plants are promising materials for building sustainable and eco‐friendly robots due to their inherent multifunctionality, with actuation playing a crucial role. This article focuses on the physical movements of plants and, from the perspective of actuation characteristics, explores representative plant species and their behaviors, the current state of ...

The Effects of Restoring Logged Tropical Forests on Avian Phylogenetic and Functional Diversity. [PDF]

open access: yes
Selective logging is the most prevalent land-use change in the tropics. Despite the resulting degradation of forest structure, selectively logged forests still harbour a substantial amount of biodiversity leading to suggestions that their protection is ...

Quantifying leaf trait covariation and its controls across climates and biomes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Plant functional ecology requires the quantification of trait variation and its controls. Field measurements on 483 species at 48 sites across China were used to analyse variation in leaf traits, and assess their predictability.

High Value Utilization of Waste Biomass Carbon for Rapid CO2 Electroreduction and Stable Sodium‐Ion Storage

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 2, March 2026.
A strategy for the combined use of energy materials is proposed, in which bamboo‐derived carbon is simultaneously applied to DC‐SOFC and SIB. The regulating mechanisms of carbon microstructure and its strengthening effect on electrochemical performance were elucidated by comparing the fast Joule heating and traditional tube furnace heating processes ...
