Implantable Self‐Powered Systems for Electrical Stimulation Medical Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this paper, the design strategy and clinical application of ISS are discussed in depth from four aspects: the design and optimization of the energy collection module, the selection and preparation of adaptive electrode materials, the innovation of system design strategy, and the biological effect of electrical stimulation of ISS.

Boost AI Power: Data Augmentation Strategies with unlabelled Data and Conformal Prediction, a Case in Alternative Herbal Medicine Discrimination with Electronic Nose [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Electronic nose has been proven to be effective in alternative herbal medicine classification, but due to the nature of supervised learning, previous research heavily relies on the labelled training data, which are time-costly and labor-intensive to collect.

Hepatoprotective Potential of Herbal Medicine [PDF]

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2015
Occurrence of various types of hepatic ailments has been on the rise and has resulted in significant increase in morbidity and mortality worldwide. Viral hepatitis, alcoholic/nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and drug-induced liver injury are of major health concerns claiming millions of lives ...

Targeting Senescence with Apigenin Improves Chemotherapeutic Efficacy and Ameliorates Age‐Related Conditions in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
As a plant‐derived flavonoid, apigenin directly targets PRDX6 to inhibit its PLA2 activity, blocking HSPA8 activation and disturbing its interactions with ATM and p38MAPK in senescent cells. By dampening wide spectrum expression of the SASP, apigenin prevents loss of tissue homeostasis, improves organ function, and alleviates multiple age‐related ...

Diallyl Trisulfide From Garlic Regulates RAB18 Phase Separation to Inhibit Lipophagy and Induce Cuproptosis in Hepatic Stellate Cells for Antifibrotic Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Diallyl trisulfides (DATs) selectively induce cuproptosis in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) by targeting Ras‐related protein Rab‐18 (RAB18) and regulating lipophagy. DATs promote RAB18 phase separation, enhance mitochondrial‐associated membrane structures (MAMs) formation, and increase succinylation of dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase (DLD) at K320.

Mechanisms of Baicalin Alleviates Intestinal Inflammation: Role of M1 Macrophage Polarization and Lactobacillus amylovorus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Baicalin alleviates E. coli‐induced intestinal inflammation through dual mechanisms: direct inhibition of the TLR4/IRF/STAT signaling pathway to modulate macrophage polarization and antigen presentation, thereby regulating Th17/Treg cell differentiation; and microbiota‐mediated indirect effects via increasing Lactobacillus amylovorus abundance and ...

Halofuginone Disrupted Collagen Deposition via mTOR‐eIF2α‐ATF4 Axis to Enhance Chemosensitivity in Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
COL1A1, a major component of ECM, contributes to chemoresistance and poor prognosis in ovarian cancer. Halofuginone (HF) attenuates CAF‐secreted COL1A1 through mTOR‐eIF2α‐ATF4 axis. Notably, HF disrupts collagen deposition to form the looser ECM and facilitates CD8+ T cell infiltration, partially via M2‐M1 macrophage polarization to enhance ...

Decursin‐Loaded Nanovesicles Target Macrophages Driven by the Pathological Process of Atherosclerosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents decursin, a traditional Chinese medicine monomer, that inhibits lipid accumulation and inflammation in atherosclerosis through PKCδ interaction. A novel targeted delivery system (ALD@EM) is developed to overcome decursin's short half‐life, combining antibody‐mediated targeting, LDL‐facilitated chemotaxis, and enhanced macrophage ...
