Improved herbicide efficacy for organically grown vegetables
Organic Agriculture, 2015Natural weed control alternatives that are currently approved for organic crop production are mostly nonselective essential oils used as postemergence, burn-down products. Their low efficacy requires multiple applications of high volumes to achieve good weed control.

Nozzle-Adjuvant Formulation Interactions: Implications on Herbicide Efficacy
Journal of ASTM International, 2006Abstract A series of adjuvants were developed to improve herbicide performance when applied through air induction nozzles. A series of research trials were conducted in 2004 and 2005 with clethodim, foramsulfuron, and glyphosate. Efficacy of these herbicides was reduced in over 30 % of all cases when applied through air induction nozzles

Herbicide Efficacy and Tolerance in Sweet White Lupin
Weed Technology, 1993The successful introduction of a new crop depends upon the availability of economical, safe, and effective herbicides for that crop. Greenhouse trials identified PRE herbicide applications of 4.5 kg ai ha−1 of metolachlor and of alachlor, 2.2 kg ai ha−1 of linuron and of pendimethalin, and 1.1 kg ai ha−1 of desmediphan as noninjurious to sweet white ...

Logistic Analysis for Monitoring and Assessing Herbicide Efficacy
Weed Technology, 1992Two relatively new methods for analyzing herbicide efficacy data are described. Weighted multiple regression using the logit transformation for plant mortality data is illustrated and compared with the more accurate maximum likelihood logistic regression procedure. A partial data set evaluating the effects of increasing application rates of picloram (0,

Herbicidal Efficacy of Protoporphyrinogen Oxidase Inhibitors
1999Compounds which inhibit protoporphyrinogen oxidase (Protox) were known as “photobleaching herbicides” before their site of action was discovered. Photobleaching herbicides cause very strong bleaching of the treated part of higher plants. It was known that a photobleaching herbicide requires oxygen and light to express its herbicidal activity.

Glyphosate-Based Herbicidal Ionic Liquids with Increased Efficacy
ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, 2014Eight new glyphosate-based herbicidal ionic liquids (HILs), containing both mono- and dianions of glyphosate (benzalkonium glyphosate, bis(2-hydroxyethyl)cocomethylammonium glyphosate, oleylmethylbis(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium glyphosate, didecyldimethylammonium glyphosate, di(hydrogenated tallow)dimethylammonium glyphosate, 4-decyl-4-ethylmorpholinium ...

Influence of application volume on herbicide efficacy.
Communications in agricultural and applied biological sciences, 2004Herbicide doses used by farmers are often lower than registration doses. One of the reasons put forward is that field assays for registration are performed at relatively high application volumes (typically 300 L ha(-1)), whereas farmers use lower volumes (down to 75 L ha(-1) or even lower).

Investigations of the efficacy of the herbicide topramezone
