The dynamics of Herbig–Haro objects
Radial-velocity and proper-motion information on Herbig–Haro (HH) objects is analyzed for clues to the character of the supersonic flows that produce the objects. We examine the correlations among space velocities, excitation states, internal velocity dispersions, electron densities, and positions relative to the exciting stars for the emission knots ...

New Herbig-Haro objects in the L1617 and L1646 dark clouds
Optical imaging towards L1617 and L1646 revealed three new Herbig-Haro (HH) objects, HH 182, 439, and 866. Spectroscopic observations of HH 182 A and 439 A confirmed their HH object nature.

Particle acceleration in the Herbig–Haro objects HH 80 and HH 81 [PDF]
We present an analysis of radio (Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA)), optical (HST), and X-ray (Chandra and XMM-Newton) observations and archival data of the Herbig-Haro objects HH 80 and HH 81 in the context of jet-cloud interactions.

Long-Slit Spectroscopy of Herbig-Haro Objects
Astrophysics and Space Science, 1995Long-slit spectra of intermediate spectral and high spatial resolution of new Herbig-Haro objects in AFGL 5142, AFGL 5157 and IRAS 2237+7455 and of the already known GGD17/HH1 were obtained. The results are shown in the form of position-velocity diagrams. Radial velocities and electron densities were measured.

Chemistry ahead of Herbig-Haro objects
Astrophysics and Space Science, 2003There is now compelling evidence that dark molecular clouds are clumpy. Much of the clumpiness is unresolved by single-dish telescopes but is apparent in the data from array telescopes. Molecular clumps may also be observed close to Herbig-Haro (HH) objects.

This article reviews our current understanding of the Herbig-Haro phenomenon. HH objects are shocks occurring in supersonic flows from very young stars. The history of HH research is outlined, and observations at various wavelengths summarized. Particular attention is paid to the highly collimated Herbig-Haro jets, whose morphology, kinematics and ...

New Herbig–Haro objects associated with embedded sources
We continue to present the results of the Byurakan Narrow Band Imaging Survey (BNBIS). The main goal of this survey is to search for Herbig-Haro (HH) objects and jets in Galactic dark clouds.
