Evaluation of non-carcass components of goat grazing in Caatinga rangeland supplemented with spineless cactus and native plants

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Animal Sciences, 2020
The objective of this study was to evaluate non-carcass components of goats submitted to grazing in the Caatinga rangeland and supplemented with spineless cactus (Nopalea cochelinifera Salm Dick), Jitirana hay (Merremia aegyptia L. Urban) and Mororó hay (

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Stochastic analysis of a prey–predator model with herd behaviour of prey

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2016
In nature, a number of populations live in groups. As a result when predators attack such a population the interaction occur only at the outer surface of the herd.

Comparative evaluation of multi-basin production performance and application of spatio-temporal models for unconventional oil and gas production prediction

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2020
Modern data analytic techniques, statistical and machine-learning algorithms have received widespread applications for solving oil and gas problems. As we face problems of parent–child well interactions, well spacing, and depletion concerns, it becomes ...

Comparison of Bull-Dam Herds, Progeny Testing Herds, and Other Dairy Herd Improvement Herds

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1991
Abstract Michigan and Northeast dairy herds that produced young bulls for AI sampling from 1974 to 1981 and 1978 to 1981, respectively, and those involved in progeny testing were compared with their contemporary DHI herds. The 1985 lactation records of Michigan herds and 1980 to 1987 data of Northeast herds were acquired from respective DHIA data ...

Kinetic Insights into Precursor‐Assisted Soft Sphere Close Packing Revealed by In Situ GISAXS with Implications for Gas Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The versatile precursor‐assisted soft sphere close packing during slot‐die coating is investigated with in situ X‐ray scattering. The soft crystallization pathways towards a close packing involve multistep structural transitions such as surface nucleation, in‐plane, and out‐of‐plane crystallization.

Herd behaviour in extreme market conditions: The case of the Athens stock exchange [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper examines herd behaviour in extreme market conditions using data from the Athens Stock Exchange. We test for the presence of herding as suggested by Christie and Huang (1995) and Chang, Cheng, and Khorana (2000).
