IT HAS been well established that there is a strong hereditary tendency in retinoblastoma. Although the exact way in which the disease is transmitted has not been agreed on, evidence largely points to its being a dominant trait irregular in type. Some cases have been reported of collateral involvement in siblings whose parents were apparently normal ...

Routine ophthalmoscopy and fundoscopy of 673 individuals revealed 42 whose irides failed to dilate to a clinically useful degree within 25 to 30 min after the administration of drops of 1% mydracil. These individuals occurred with different frequency among the Aymara, Mestizo, and non‐Aymara groups which made up the sample of examinees.

Hereditary factors are linked with cancer in four ways: by the association of specific chromosomal abnormalities with certain types of cancer, the increase of cancer incidence in some hereditary disorders, the increase of susceptibility to cancer in certain genotypes, and by direct inheritance of some rare malignant neoplasms.

In introductory notes the author discusses the high significance of hereditary tendency in the development of concomitant squint, the hereditary species character of binocular vision, the methods for exactly outlining the normal status of equilibrium and its anomalies and for proving the heredity of squint and its modification range, and finally the ...

This is a study on the heredity of dementia in the ageing of the Alzheimer, vascular and Pick types. The incidence of the same type of dementia among parents, siblings and offspring of the probands is higher than that in the general population. Alzheimer dementia (AD): Presenile familial AD follows a dominant mode of inheritance: many pedigrees with ...
