Information Geometry of Complex Hamiltonians and Exceptional Points

open access: yesEntropy, 2013
Information geometry provides a tool to systematically investigate the parameter sensitivity of the state of a system. If a physical system is described by a linear combination of eigenstates of a complex (that is, non-Hermitian) Hamiltonian, then there ...

Quantum‐Noise‐Driven Generative Diffusion Models

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
Diffusion Models (DMs) are today a very popular class of generative models for Machine Learning (ML), using a noisy dynamics to learn an unknown density probability of a finite set of samples in order to generate new synthetic data. This study proposes a method to generalize them into the quantum domain by introducing and investigating what are termed ...

Efficient Simulation of Open Quantum Systems on NISQ Trapped‐Ion Hardware

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
Open quantum systems exhibit rich dynamics that can be simulated efficiently on quantum computers, allowing us to learn more about their behavior. This work applies a new method to simulate certain open quantum systems on noisy trapped‐ion quantum hardware.

Special Hermitian metrics

open access: yes
We study the stability at blow-up and deformations of a class of Hermitian metrics whose fundamental two-form $ω$ satisfies the condition $\partial \bar \partial ω^k=0$, for any $k$ between 1 and $n-1$ (where $n$ is the complex dimension of the manifold). We are motivated by the existence of compact complex manifold supporting such metrics.

Multi‐Photon Fock State Generation via Selective Single Photon Subtraction in a Cascaded Waveguide QED System

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
This work proposes a photon subtraction scheme, termed ′photon culling′, that enables the selective extraction of a single photon based on its arrival time relative to other photons. This scheme enables the generation of multi‐photon Fock states with high fidelity and modal purity, demonstrating significant potential for quantum metrology applications ...

The Metric Operator and the Functional Integral Formulation of Pseudo-Hermitian Quantum Mechanics

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2007
Pseudo-Hermitian quantum theories are those in which the Hamiltonian H satisfies H† = ηHη-1, where η = e-Q is a positive-definite Hermitian operator, rather than the usual H† = H.

Nonreciprocal Entanglement of Frequency‐Distinct Qubits

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the first spatiotemporal superconducting metasurface for nonreciprocal entanglement between frequency‐mismatched qubits at millikelvin temperatures. Leveraging space‐time‐modulated Josephson field‐effect transistors (JoFETs), the platform enables unidirectional, spurious‐free quantum state conversion with high efficiency.

Quasicomplex N=2, d=1 Supersymmetric Sigma Models

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2013
We derive and discuss a new type of N=2 supersymmetric quantum mechanical sigma models which appear when the superfield action of the (1,2,1) multiplets is modified by adding an imaginary antisymmetric tensor to the target space metric, thus completing ...

Dark Excitonic State Preparation in a Symmetry‐Protected Open Quantum Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
An optical charging protocol is presented for an excitonic quantum battery that prepares the system in a symmetry‐protected dark excited state. Using a continuous‐wave laser followed by controlled relaxation, the system stores energy in a state resilient to environmental losses. Abstract Previous work (J. Phys. Chem.
