Herniation of intra-abdominal structures through the obturator foramen in the innominate bone has been recognized as a surgical condition since Arnaud de Ronsil 1 reported the first such incidence before the Royal Academy of Sciences in Paris in 1724. Watson, 2 in 1938, collected 420 cases from the literature.
