Laparoscopic Ventral Hernia Repair
Surgical Clinics of North America, 2023The laparoscopic approach to ventral hernia repair is a safe and effective approach for both elective and emergent repair. The preoperative technical considerations include assessment of incarceration and potential for extensive adhesiolysis, size of defect, and atypical hernia locations.

Laparoscopic Ventral Hernia Repair
Journal of Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques, 2000A retrospective study was carried out of patients who underwent laparoscopic ventral abdominal wall hernia repair (excluding groin hernias) between January 1994 and January 1999.Laparoscopic ventral hernia repair was performed on 202 patients for defects ranging from 1.5 cm to 12 cm in diameter. Of these, 35 patients had multiple hernial defects. After

Giant Ventral Hernias and their Repair
Scandinavian Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1984A method is described for the reconstruction of the abdominal wall in cases of large ventral hernia, by employing the frontal leaf of the rectus fascia and free fascia transplant, combined with muscle transposition. The results of 14 operations have been satisfactory in 11 cases, over an average observation period of 28 months.

Laparoscopic Ventral Hernia Repair
Surgical Clinics of North America, 2013Laparoscopic ventral hernia repair (LVHR) has established itself as a well-accepted option in the treatment of hernias. Clear benefits have been established regarding the superiority of LVHR in terms of fewer wound infections compared with open repairs. Meticulous technique and appropriate patient selection are critical to obtain the reported results.

Repair of Giant Ventral Hernias
Advances in Surgery, 2013Repair of huge ventral hernias is technically challenging for the surgeon and a major operation for the patient and should be performed by experienced surgeons in centers that are used to caring for patients who are commonly massively obese with significant comorbidities. Preoperative medical optimization of patients is an important part in the overall

Ventral Incisional Hernia Recurrence
Journal of Surgical Research, 2001During the period October 1993 to December 1996, 31 patients were operated on by the author for primary or recurrent ventral incisional hernia (VIH). Three patients were excluded from analysis because their records were unavailable for review. The median age of the 28 remaining patients at their initial procedure was 57.5 years (range, 37-78 years ...
